  2. Well after tweaking unsuccessfully I've decided to make my mom subscribe us to a new ISP. I'm currently using Verizon DSL. What do you guys recommend? A good price would be $40/mo or lower. It's ok if its a little bit higher than $40, nothing that's near $50! I live in Fairfax, Virgnia by the way, so what do you guys think I should get? Also, what will happen if I order a new ISP, but keep my current one? I don't want to cancel Verizon and then get a new ISP because then I would have to wait, and have no Internet, and I need it for school which starts very soon (8th Grade hehe!) I want to get the new ISP service activated before I cancel my current one. So what are some recommendations?

  3. Oh no what if I am capped? I didn't even know Verizon had that low speed plan. I though the cheapeast was the 1.5 Mbps. This guy said in another forum that Verizon was probably limiting my bandwidth because I leave my modem on 24/7. Am I supposed to turn it off? Oh well this speed sucks. I need to get my mom to buy me something faster. It's just she doesn't know what she's doing, so I have to call Verizon to cancel the DSL, and when you're about to cancel something they always have to ask you why. Then they recommend customer service and annoy me when I just want to cancel it! But I don't like talking to strangers on the phone I stutter sometimes. VanBuren, thanks for trying though. There was a nice improvement, but it's still a piece of crap!

I might need to redo the tweaktest. I don't know what type of connection I have, heh. I think it's a ethernet, since I use an ethernet cord? I just put normal because I wasn't sure.

  5.   I'm not satisfied with my speed at all. There is definitely a problem.

I'm only 13, and I don't know too much about Internet connections, so don't use big words on me. :haha: If you need any more info please let me know. Also, I tried to use Van Buren's Cablenut settings but there are so many to pick from that I don't know which one is right for my Internet. I'm on Windows XP and umm, my ISP is Verizon DSL. Thanks in advance.
