  1. I should have known it was too good to be true... since I ran these tweaks on my computers, they are getting blazing speeds to the internet, but I've lost all my LAN connections between the computers and after 3 hours still have no idea what else could be the cause.... guess I'm going to have to put things back the way they were...
  2. Here's the upload test: :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 699 Kbps about 0.7 Mbps (tested with 579 kB) Upload Speed is:: 85 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Thu Oct 20 2005 11:45:57 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time) Bottom Line:: 12X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 12.05 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 99.71 % faster than the average for host (comcast.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-X64OSEABU My own FTP program reports an average of more like 120K when uploading big files to my web server. My rate for the internet alone (apart from the cable fees) is $95 a month.
  3. Wow... since doing the tweaks I'm now seeing net upload throughputs that are double what I had before -- in the range of 120K... ( I still don't get why upload speeds are so much slower, though...)
  4. I have their business plan, which I think must be the 8MB. However, my speeds were half this before until I ran the CableNut application and used the wizard to create the appropriate settings for me. Very dramatic improvement.
