  7. yes drebel... 1.5mbit is the fastest ive had for the past 4 days.. snr on 35.6
  8. During these past rainy days around the metro (and most) of the islands I had the oportunity to notice something quite interesting (if not dumb). The Emergency Weather Warning interrrupts the cable signal, and I would expect this as normal for a regular cable tv subscriber line..but with powerlink also?... My question is: Is it normal for cable internet service lines to broadcast the emergency warning and interrupt the service? is it just another flop on onelink's side?
  9. during the past few days ive been getting nothing over 1.5Mbps.. and dialup latencies most of the times... gdi!!
  10. appart from the typo on their page(lol)...corporate Puerto Rico,...*sighs* the prices are quite..high..but fair services have still not arrived here...
  11. Why didn't we all get that email?... *sighs* They must assume most users wont notice the difference...
  12. excuse the spanish, an electronic translation is below "
  13. and i still remember the ads for powerlink with the kid playing videogames...misleading advertising?..heh.. anynody ever try calling and asking questions as if you were a possible client? asking for port blocking, newsservers, bandwidth capping etc etc?
  14. now this is .. wrong..(er) ... latency is around the 80ms (not great, not bad, should be better).. but speeds SEEM to be capped at 2Mbit...can anybody run some tests to confirm? or should we blame it on the routing?.... actually, im quite possitive after checking my pings/traceroutes lets hope its a 1 day thing.. although its been like this for more than 2 days............
  15. Nope, alot of latency even to the first 4 hops ( :( ) speeds are bellow the 1mbit barrier tonight.. Yet on a letter sent out (January 16th) under the new company name (OnelinkPr) they announce up to 4Mbps.. (4!) with no asterisks...ofcourse, this MUST have been a typo since it is only prudent to guarantee atleast 50% of your adversited speed... is it not? tune in for tomorow's tracerts .. in as Onelink tumbles...
  16. Yes, I Agree. Yet, one of the most dissapointing facts about this whole ordeal is the fact that they are not giving fair warning to their users. Heh, I don't know what its called but its not google in english anymore, its the .pr ( a /ncr resets it) , so things are changing. Anyways, whats the webmail for? those collocations in new york are getting dusty. They SHOULD start sending service interruption/"experimentation" advisories... its only appropriate for such ridiculously high fees.

  18. its silly to go from san juan to fl to pa*? and some other states to come back to any island site? hah. there is(or was) a project called "Puerto Rico Internet Exchange" specifically aimed to tackled this ridiculous routing problem.. i dont know what happened to it.. it is(was) based out of the Gauss Lab at University of Puerto Rico http://www.ix.pr . And finally.. why don't onelinkpr customers have a page like this? http://www.centennialpr.com/bs/servicelevev.asp or this http://www.innovabycentennial.com/index.jsp and might i add, centennial's network looks in good shape... then again.. i think they have a considerable hold over puerto rico's internet backbone(s) ... onlink should lease
  19. yup.. done alredy... while dmaxpr, ayustar, isla, caribe and other puertorican isp websites/mailservers are hosted in pr* ? interesting what this might imply..heh.. anyways, anybody know if onelink plans on offering access to newsgroups? for such a relatively high fee....
  20. "up to 3Mb(forty astesrisks here)" down and they dont speak about uploads, but they are being capped to the 300s..
