The power requirement for a 9600GT(from BFG) is stated at 400W, based on a system with a core2 extreme x6800. Will my 375W powersupply be enough for it running only a core2 6300 (1.86GHz)?

I'm currently on wireless and my signal is pretty weak, I was wondering what the wireless channel settings do. Mine is currenetly at channel 6, but I have channels 1-11 to choose from. Which one is the best one?

I have a question about SVChost. At start up when everything is loading svchost goes up to 100k memory usage and after about a minuate it goes back down to 34-35k memory usage. I was wondering if that was normal. How much memory does your guys SVChost.exe take up?

Hm I was looking through some of the guides, and one of them says never connect through USB, always ethernet. What's wrong with USB? I used USB for a while and it seemed fine.

My desktop is about 2 weeks old only, so I don't think it has a matinence problem. I normally check for spyware/viruses/clear cache/ and do disk matience and get the same speeds. The only thing I haven't tried is tweaking the registry.

No I haven't. It probably won't go any faster. I get the same speed as my desktop outside connected through ethernet on a 3/512 line as well.

No its not that... It's that it does do anything once i put a disk in, not even anything to ask me what I want to use.

It's not the autoplay feature, I think it has something to do with the registry, like in this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q155217/. I checked it and mine is set at 1, but it still doesn't autorun. Any ideas?

For some reason my DVD drive dosesn't autorun anymore. The drive is not broken, I can still access a CD by going to my computer and pressing the cd icon, but how can I make it so that whenever i put in a CD or something it pops up automatically. It worked fine before.

I have a custom computer, not a manufactured one by dell, hp, etc. The one I have is a northwood, and the thing is I added a case fan not so long ago, but temperatures seem to be the same. The thing I think it is might be the power suppy because its kinda screwed up

Sure will. But how can a bad power supply burn the motherboard or any other component.

The burning smell comes only when the fans fail for a while, for some reasons the fans don't spin until I give them a little push, and from their it runs fine with fans and everything working. Fans just don't go on startup and sometimes it makes a loud noise at startup.

I was thinking about getting a new power supply (500W Antec). My currently works, but fans die out sometimes(work sometimes, doesn't sometimes) and burning smell(rarly, but happens). I can use it for now, but I know its time is up. I was wondering when buying a powersupply what to look for and a good cost.

Yea there's basically nothing wrong with it.. just needs a jump start most of the time and it runs continuessly until i turn off the PC

I have a similar problem with mine... But what I do is when it doesn't start up at boot, I just use a pencil to boost the fan for a jump spin then it goes by itself. It stays on for the rest of the time as long as my computer is on and its pretty old so it doesn't have a temp thingy.

Hmm, I guess I'll try both ways to see which way I will get better results.. And as for the connection to the power supply, do I just need to find a spare cable to connect it too?

I recently got a new video card(x800xl AGP) and it works great.. One thing is that it tends to overheat the CPU. My CPU temp normally runs at 40C when Idle and 65C while gaming. Since I installed my video card my idle temps are 50C and close to 80C when gaming. I know that is way too high. My theory is that the video card fan is taking all the air in the case. One problem is that my case doesn't have any case fans.. I was thinking about gettiing one but I have a few questions. 1)Can I put the case fan here (Pic below) 2)How do I install it? 3)Which way should it face(taking air in or blowing out?) 4)What size fan should I get
