Ok but how should I discribe my problem to my ISP? I don't have an idea what to ask. I can only say that I think I have slower inet than I should have. But what will they do than?

ok I did that and ran the tests again, however i didn't notice many difference. Any other settings I can use?

You need to find out from your ISP why latency is so high. Check with your friends who have the same ISP if they face the same problem. If they do not, then you may have hardware or line quality problems.Ok but I don't have any idea what to ask to the helpdesk concerning my problem. Do I just have to ask them, "why does my i-net runs slower than it Should be?" or something like that?

downstream 1500 Kbit/s
upstream 256 Kbit/s
I figured a bit out how to use cable nut and used 'vanburen's cablenut setting7' ---> cable/dsl/fiber/dial-up ---> winXP cable/dsl ---> msss 1440 ---> 1500/256
than i rebooted and did the test:

*edit*
never mind.. i figured out myself quite a bit how to use cablenut
I only still have my latency problem which is unsolved :S
check my thread here: http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=11091.

Hi all im new to this all but obviously I need some help because my internet runs slower than it should be. I would like some help with cablenut also because I saw the note 'ASK WHEN YOU'RE NOT SURE ABOUT IT' so that's the problem I don't have a clue what to do now..
I did what was said in this thread: Test: http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=2097.0
1. windows XP HOME sp2
2 planet internet ,
3. i installed cable nut but i dont have a clue how to use it!?!
Test:
TCP options string = 020405b401010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 65535
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 65535
Note: TCP 1323 Options need to be enabled for RWIN over 2^16 (65535). Windows 9x might also need the MS Vtcp386 fix.
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2621.4 Kbps (327.675 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1048.56 Kbps (131.07 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 119 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000 (0)
4.
