  1. thanks VB.. my speeds still arent at the advertisted 6mb/s, but increased from 3.2 to 4.2 on nitro, 2.9 to 4.1 on speakeasy. not bad, considering my adapter is not very good! Thanks
  2. Hi - I had comcast 3/down, and recently upgraded to 6/down (and got their cable- they are coming any minute to install the tv service). However, my line speed has really not increased, and i'm wondering if there is anything i can do to increase it. This is the result from the line test on my connection - wireless pci adapter - I had to use the flat test. [[Results ]]] I pay for comcast 6down, and know the wireless pci causes significant loss in speed (especially since it is AT&T pci adapter, total trash) albeit my hardwired computer, (I unplugged the router and conected directly to the modem) will not exceed ~4.2mpbs. I have a modem that is probably 2 years old, branded comcast (WebSTAR DPC2100) and am wondering if the speed lost is from my end, due to the modem not being capable of these speeds, or if it is due to the actual line itself. I'm thinking about upgrading to the Surfboard SB5120, and wondering if there are suggestions? Interestingly enough, I've run the NDT test thru nitro.ucsc.edu to check for duplex mismatches, but everything seems to check out ok - and my speeds appear much higher there on my pci adapter. I'll post up my results here. Note that all values are for the wireless computer (802.11b/g AT&T PCI adapter!) Thanks! >>>>
