small phone co. small town 900 people or so. everyone else is long distance. they only gave up party lines in the early 80"s. the only other option for me is directway sat. but really cant convince my wife . My isp offers a service the say is 128kb for $35. i pay the $45 now, with that in mind am i getting screwed. thanks again Phin

ok first off my isp claims "High Speed DSL up to [512/128K] $45.95" and i do understand that they say "up to" but i seems when im at another persons home with dsl (from another provider) theirs is much faster. my downloads start in the 150k -200k range and then drop to the 50's and sometimes much lower 7k to 10k. do i have a problem or do i expect to much for my money? .
