  3. well, it doesn't really matter whether is capped at 3 or 4 MB if their services sucks, they keep restricting the bandwith and with their new VOIP is worse, we still get sloppy service, that is what no competition does, they get to do whatever they want since we have no where to go to...

  6. well, all of them are either blocked or closed when i run the tests from various port sniffer sites like whatismyip.com site... and i am not behind a firewall when i test.
  7. thanks elite however it has 1000 features where would i look to see if is blocking ports?? that is, if this modem is capable of it, or maybe turning off DHCP so i can set static ip...

  10. :icon_pale:Is there a software that I can use to get into this specific type of cable modem (Motorola Surfboard SB5100). My problem is that my public IP shown here is different than the IP on my pc. My problem is that i recently purchased a Linsys MRT54G and I can not do Port Forward for online games and filesharing etc. and even without the router the ports are blocked. I suspect that my cablemodem is on of those with router built in features and that my ISP (onelinkpr) is using it to block all these ports. thank you all for your help..

Btw, i also was reading that this router is full duplex, and i think my connection is half duplex, dont know how to verify this, thank you.. also, is there a program that i can view my router and modem settings, thank you..

Hi all, i just got me a Linksys Wireless Router (WRT54G) and connected to my PC, the problem is that my speed now slows down drastically, without the Router my test speed is 3.7 mbps and with it is on 1.2mbps. This is the first time i install a router and also i im running cablenut with a custom MTU 1500 ccs file... What could be the problem??? thank You all....
  19. trogers, thanks for looking into all that crap, cause i sure dont understad it,,, well, my eth card is already set to half duplex since is connected directly to the cable modem which is a motorola sb5100 and is what that link you gave me was basically telling to do... unless it is the modem that is set otherwise, how can i look to the modem settings??? if you need me to....

Wanna know about packet lost just look here http://www.dslreports.com/badrouters it identifies all the bad routers that are lossing packets on a daily basis from almost all companies,, as u can see, adelphia net and com are the worse ones... only 1 or 2 from onelink.... i hope they get rid of adelphia pronto.....
