  1. I really appreciate your help. When I ran the original tests on pcpitstop I was using Zone Alarm firewall and getting 2950kbs with IE6 and much slower speeds with opera 8.5 and foxfire 1.5. Someone told me to switch to Sygate, so I did. All of the speed tests above that I did at testmy.net were preformed with Sygate personal 5.6 I got rid of the firewall and retested with RWIN 256960 and 128480. Without any firewall my IE6 speed is 3.1Mb and opera and foxfire are both 2.1Mb so part of the problem was with the firewall but now I am now back to the original problem of firefox 1.5 and opera 8.5 being slow browsers and I really dont like IE6. My first 2 hops were 6 and 8 ms. Any suggestions about the browsers and maybe a firewall?
  2. Ok, does this mean that the problem is with cableone? Or something I can change?

  5. No, the win2000 css file didnt change anything, so I looked at your file. I changed the RWIN to 128480 with cablenut but at speedguide it showed something like 65 thousand something I forgot to write it down. So I changed the RWIN with TCP optimizer to 128480 and my speed slowed down. :::.. 6. I tried to load the file but it said it was for win2000 and it didnt make any changes.
  7. My original problem was speed testing at pcpitstop: IE6 2950kps firefox 1.5 1100kps opera 8.5 400-800kps These speeds were achieved after optimizing for 3.0mb cable connection using TCP optimizer. To level the playing field I have changed my settings with cablenut and tested again at testmy.net, here are the results. OS Win 98SE cable connection 3.0 mb down and 300kps up have installed all registry tweaks for win98 from speedguide have changed settings with cablenut First I tried Vanburens version 7 for win98 cable +1500 Now using Vanburens version 8 for win98 cable +1500 This is from speed guide TCP options string = 020405b401010402 MTU = 1500 MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
