  1. can i  :twogun::ar15fire::uzi: those pings ... :smile2:

    anyways. i dont know where to start, what to ask  :idiot2::uglystupid2:..

    so i'll be  :grin2: :grin2: if one of you help me out of this....

    been searching this site(and speedtest.net) for almost two days to know my actual speed. i've done numerous D/U tests till now. and every time i do the test i'm in shock to see the results. today the results were

    Down : 540kb/s

    up : 300kb/s

    my adv connection speed's are 24mb/s(down) and 820kb/s(up).

    i'm able to download below 300kb/s at any time but not more than that. only once i was able to download at a speed more than 900kb/s. and about my upload : yesterday i was able to upload at 80kb/s and today not even crossing 30kb/s.i'm searching for the telephone exchange right now to know the exact distance. i hope i'm in 3.2km radius. even if i'm not in that radius i should be getting better down speeds i guess(better than 300kb/s if not 900kb/s).

    that's the summary of my headache. dont know what else i should include in that but ...........

  2. well i did the same ping test and got these results.

    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

    is everything ok???????

  3. more over i've upgraded my comp aswell with necessary updates last week.

    anyways .... i'm not feeling bad as of now cause this is the best speed i've experienced till now at home. earlier it used to be 1.5mb/s with a max down speed of 150-160kb/s.

    by the way i just checked another test file(googled it just now) so i was downloadin at 320+ for which i'm happy as of now.

    but seriously today evening when i was downloading java and few other files it went more than 900kb/s which is almost 1mb/s(half of adv speed). and also i was able to download at speeds more than 300+ in azureus.

  4. i'm from melbourne.

    by the way soon after that i tired it from testmy.net and these are the results...

    :::.. Download Stats ..:::

    Download Connection is:: 1996 Kbps about 2 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB)

    Download Speed is:: 244 kB/s

    Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (Server 1)

    Test Time:: 2006/11/23 - 9:38am

    Bottom Line:: 35X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 4.2 sec

    Tested from a 2992 kB file and took 12.281 seconds to complete

    Download Diagnosis:: May need help : running at only 85.89 % of your hosts average (com.au)

    D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-1QI3MDE4C

    User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) [!]

    why is it so different?

  5. k i've checked this site speedtest.net

    11/23/2006 4:33 PM GMT "7421 kb/s"  "  550 kb/s" 60 ms Melbourne < 50 mi Hide Linkable Image

    so it means download speed is 7421kb/s and upload speed is 550kb/s

    so that's connection speed right....

    finally. but it is not true as well. cause i'm able to download with a speed more that 900kb/s so.....

    any particular file to download to compare at what speed i'm able to download??

  7. Sorry, your score of 76802 Kbps is over TestMy.net's max of 60000 Kbps.  It is very doubtful your connection is faster than 60000 Kbps... Please RETEST

    Are you running a firewall?  -- Some firewalls may need to be taken down for TestMy.net to work.  After the firewall is taken down your browser may need to be restarted also.

    Do you have an internet accelerator or proxy running? -- Some internet accelerators may cause false results when testing at testmy.net.  It's recommended and necessary for you to take down all programs that cache pages.  Note that your connection is the same speed although these programs make your connection appear faster because they precached pages for you.  Pages that have been precached (in other words fetched for you in advance)  are counter productive when you're trying to benchmark what your real line speed is.

    Are you accessing the page incorrectly? -- Clicking the back button repeatedly in your browser often is the cause of this error, please refrain from using your browsers back button if you get this error often.

    If you still have problems please try testing with flat-file testing

  8. arrrgggghhhh.  :tickedoff: so its not my actual speed then.

    anyways i upgraded my connection speed today and straight away tried it. first it showed it as 2mbps, which is not true.... cause i asked for a 20mbps connection speed. so i tried it after awhile. then it showed me that ungodly, mouth watering speed cause of which i  :shock: for a sec and kept looking at that speed for a while. then i tried again with the dual and nothing did change. oooh man, was in wonder land till now.

    by the way how do i clear the cache and other's which you mentioned. does that mean i've to delete cookies, files and history?
