Hello all... Just upgraded from Verizon's 1.5/784 to their 3.0/784 for the same price of $29.95 per month. I ran some speed tests w/ the default CableNut settings for this speed. Can this be tweaked? Van Buren, you have been so kind to help me with my Verizon DSL tweaks in the past. If you recall, we hit a snag with download speed being limited no matter what we did? Maybe that is because Verizon is capping speeds? Just a thought... read it in some other posts. I have since run a line quality test and received the following grade. I failed a portion of the test. Sorry... after changinf the resolution... the buttons became available.

If I change my Operating System to Windows 2000, the fields are the same as yours... but still missing the buttons at the bottom of the adjuster.

nope... the adjuster doesn't even share the same field names as your screen.

I just installed Cablenut on a Win98SE machine. Having some difficulties with applying the new settings... there are no buttons at the bottom of the settings? Suggestions?

VanBuren, As posted last night, Verizon told me that my update would not take affect for 3-5 days. Well, considering that my upload speed has gone from the 130's to the 250's, I'd have to think that the update has already gone thru? If so, am I safe to try my CableNut adjustments again? Verizon offered me the free upgrade to the 384 upload package. I'll get in in 3-5 business days. If I wanted the 3000/768 package, my price would go from $29.99 to $44.99 per month. No NY Metro type plan in my area.

Still talking with Verizon. They are now telling me that I am only subscribed to a 1500/128 package? I'm giving them some words about why I am paying the 1500/386 price. I'll keep you informed!

I just spoke with a Veriuzon representitive, after removing CableNut adjustments. The representitive ran some line tests from their end, while she had me run some speed tests on my end. After initializing my modem and rebooting my pc, the results came back 1300 download and 150 upload, which according to Verizon is "very good" considering that my max download available is 1500. Verizon was quick to decline any "NY Metro" type plans in my area, unless I wanted to fork over some more cash, The idea of buying more speed is appealing, but not if I can do so by tweaking.

VanBuren... thanks again for all of your help in tweaking my system. I'm still running at the same base speeds... but it sure beats dialup, and for that I am thankful. Thanks for all of your efforts and keep me in mind if you have any ideas.

I am currently using a suggested firewall of this site. Not sure if I like it all that much. Any suggestions or comments as to what firewalls are used and liked? Thanks!
