  2. This is what i am using from ACronis

    http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/diskdirector/multibooting.html

could have used any boot manager i suppose, but that is just the one i used..

Now see this i where you lost me.

""Only thing I could suggest is to locate the configuration within the disk, or image your loading, and set the drivers to match the host OS, if this is the way your getting what would be called a "hackintosh" to boot.""

I can navigate around in the OS but really don't know where to be exactly

It boots and runs fine, but no sound and web..

I tried looking and found something about alpha loader and mac keft files and want not ( I think )

and yes it is a hackintosh i guess...

    Thanks

  3. I used acronis to resize my HDD.

Then use it also to install Acronis OS selector.

After that I installed a patched version of 10.4.8

It works on my Intel Dell but not able to even get past the install screen for my AMD Dell.

It says it will install with AMD but havent had any luck yet..

    I used this one......

    Mac OS X 10.4.9 Intel SSE3 [JaS 10.4.8 AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2.iso + JaS.10.4.9.Combo.Update.Intel.SSE3.zip]

    Thanks

  4. So who is the resident Mac OS X expert here ?

I put OS X on my Dell with XP and have no sound and network drivers and was curious how to get them....

DLewis i think is his name  right thanks in advance...

  5. First I have a network with one  Linksys WRT54G v2.2 (firmware DD-WRT) connected to 2 wired PCs.

Next, upstairs I have 3 wireless PCs all working together...

I want to add 2 more PCs. One is wireless already, that one is easy....

Now the question is can I hook another wired PC to another WRT54G v5 with stock firmware upstairs

and connect to the Router downstairs......If it is possible, can  hook a Xbox360 to the one up stairs too...

Now I looked into it earlier and under Wireless> Basic Settings> Wireless mode in the DD-WRT router if i change that to client I

think it sounds like it should work but cant find the setting in the stock firmware one..

    Thanks for the help

  6.     Hello everyone,

I need help, I have a Dell E521 with a 22" Wide screen that I dual boot with Vista and XP.

I just purchased a video card that allows DVI out so i can run my XBox 360 to it through the VGA cable.

No the problem is everything works great in XP but when i boot in Vista i have no sound.

The Xbox cable has two RCAs for sound that have a convertor to make them one 3.5 mm jack and

is plugged in the line in on the back of the PC.

So it works on Xp but not Vista, all new drivers for motherboard, oh it has on board sound too.

    Thanks In advance,

    James

  8. I hope you guys can help.........

    I have a Dell E510 with an A07 BIOS.

I have two SATA Hard drives

I only have 1 IDE channel, and when i try to put a dvd rom and a dvd writer on that channel,

it always converts one to PIO and the other channel is UDMA.

If i switch the drives, the PIO always stays on the Primary slave so it does not follow the drive it stays on the channel.

Ive tried unistalling the ide controller in the Hardware tab of system properities.

I have checked the BIOS and it has all drives on the "on" setting.

Now the only other thing is i get a messeges when i start the PC that states no drive found on primary slave channel and ask F1 to contuine or F12 to enter setup.

If i enter F1 it loads normal and it finds all drives but still stays in PIO mode.

    HELP Please

    James
