Hooray for new modems.  Thanks for the help, everyone.

  2. Powercycling the modem.  I'll generally do the same to the router at the same time.  As I said, "I've completely bypassed the router at this point..."

Advertised speed is "up to 5Mbps".

AntiVirus isn't the problem, as one computer uses McAfee, one is scanned regularly online using MicroTrend's Housecall (or was until speed bottomed out), and the third was just reformatted and has barebones software on it.

Only regular firewall used is anything that's built into the router, but since the router itself has been bypassed, that's a non-issue as well.  Like I said, I'm fairly certain there's no problem with the computers themselves, because it's doubtful they'd all be experiencing the exact problems at the exact same time if the issue was with a comp.

  3. Hello, all.  Glad I stumbled on this site.  I've had no complaints with Brighthouse/Earthlink in the nearly two years we've been in Florida.  But in the last month or two, the connection speed has just been axed.  I've spoken to Earthlink techs, and they firmly believe the issue is on the Brighthouse end.

I know there's not a computer issue, because I've had the same results on 3 different computers we own, including one that was just reformatted.  Here's my test results.  Oh, and that's with Cablenut doing its thing.

Powercycling the modem/router only results in the modem often taking 5-10 minutes to finally reconnect (not always, but far too often).  And I've completely bypassed my router at this point, so this test is running straight from the modem to the computer.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.[pre][/pre]
