What tweaks have you tried on yours?

Have you checked your cross-pol numbers?

I have done everything listed on this forum as for tweaks...  Nothing touches it.  The only hope I had was the night they changed my transdponder to SatMex5 1130.  900 avg download and 240 avg upload.  But well that didn't last long! 

And no, I don't think I have tried cross-pol numbers cuz I have no idea what that is.  lol

I make a concerted effort NOT to call Dway Support. I don't have time to be on the phone for two hours. I have an outstanding DHCP issue with my DW6000 that I simply gave up on and bought a router to do DHCP.

Right now, except for in the evenings, I have no issues really with download speeds. And, compared to what you guys are seeing, I am not going to bitch too much about my upload:

This download speed is slow for me. I have been running in the 70-90Kbps range since I applied The Reverend's tweaks.

I would be tickled pink if I had your speeds right now!!!  My download will barely get over 200 and last night, the upload was at it all time highest..... 10!!!  Dialup was 25, which I was connected at 24.0Kbps!  That just ain't right I tell ya!!

And there is no advanced tech from billing but there is advanced tech .

They have level 1- level 2- level 3 tech support, level 1 is the one you talked to and level 2 is the one that WILL NOT BE CALLING YOU BACK.

My point exactly.  I talked to Level I for 2 hours.....then level 2 every night this week for at least an hour.. all on the same case number.  They finally said tht an engineer (I would assume is level III) would call me withing 72 hours.  Has not happened yet!  Last night was on the phone again for 2 hours, first with billing who refuse to let me go back to my DW4000 and then to level II tech support again and back to billing who told me that David from Advance Tech supoort for billing would call me tonight at 6:30pm central time and would have my speeds back up.  am I doubtful?  you betcha I am!!!!  I hate myself for downgrading to this crap!!!! 

I am currently conncted via dialup..... not direcway!!

This is just plain ridiculous..... there has got to be something I can do.  Surely they do not expect us to use this crap!  omg  I get faster download speeds on dialup...... in fact, I am gonna try it.....  will post dialup results on download.

You are running below broadband speeds. With DIRECWAY, your average download speed would be about 500Kbps. Imagine the possibilities!

Joe Otto....  they changed my transponder the other day...  Satmex5 1260 to 1130 and for about 8 hours my speeds were great.  I was pleased..... then the next day, back to where I was to begin with.  On the phone again.... 

Well today I called direchell support again.....  to change back to my DW4000 that I was assured I could do yesterday....  oh noooooooooo  they want $300 to cancel the 15 month contract that I committed to.  Lets just say that poor lil girl got an ear ful!!!!  omg I was soooo mad.  I quoated every single web page I could find on Direcway saying they GARENTEED the same speeds with DW6000 that you had with DW4000.  She wouldn't budge.  But I was not about to hang up just yet.... so I went on and on about false advertising and by the time I was done... I was litterally yelling.  Oh I was sooooooo mad!!  Then she said well I am gonna have our advanced tech from billing (whatever the heck that is) call you tomorrow at 6:30pm central time so that he can get your speeds back up for you.  Well ummm I went off again.  I asked her.... so when that doesn't work, you will let me go back to my DW4000?  She never gave me a direct answer and I asked several times..... she just kept saying that she had all the confidence in the world with David and he would get it fixed.....  we will see!  I am very seriously considering just going back to my $10 a month dialup and sayin to hell with direcway.... at least with dialup I can surf the net!

Oh and the other day when they changed my transponder.....  we lost all of our email accounts... Had to set them all up again.... what a pain the rump this DW6000 has turned out to be.,... and just think.... I paid them $250 to screw me!  and it didn't even feel good! 

Direcway Utility??  what is that?  and what is AFD?  I tried the command you said to enter and it didn't do anything but sit there.  so I had to close it out and it said it wasn't responding...

DW4000 or DW6000?

According to their track record.......... no!  It will prolly slow you down......  they want you to test just how slow your speeds can get before you can't browse/download at all. 

I sent an email requesting to test also.... but umm with all the transponder changes and new site ID and such.... It seems that we have lost all of our Direcway email accounts!!!  oh this DW6000 has done nothing but cause he heartache!!  I would have been on the phone again last night tryin to get it fixed but figured.... what the heck..... I am going back to my DW4020 today.... so it doesn't matter..... i can fix it myself!!!!  Wooooohooooo  I am excited to be upgrading down from DW6000.  LOL  So I guess I won't be testing for you.  Sorry!! 

After an hour on the phone with advanced tech support.....  after all the lil tests he did.... including the hops something or other.  lol  he said that there was a definate problem and he would turn it over to an Engineer.....  well how often do they ever call?  lol  so I presented my case.......  put simply.... I want me Dw4020 back!  he transfered me to billing......  billing siad I could....... BUT (always a but) the person I needed to talk to for cancellation of the DW6000 was closed and I will have to call back tomorrow.  grrrrrrr  sooooooooooooooooooooooooo I will be calling tomorrow and by tomorrow night.... my DW4020 will be installed again!!!!!!  no charge.... but I lost the $250!  I do not care.... I want me speeds back!  my upload right now.... at 11pm is 5.  wth is 5?  grrrrrrr

They better not charge me another damn penny!!!!  and they better not even suggest it!!!  lol  I will go off!!!  Will call them as soon as I get the kiddo in bed.  I know I will be on the phone for a good hour!!!  I always am!!  Will let you know what I find out. 

wow... reread my own post..... I must have been really mad when I went home for lunch and tested my speeds.  LOL  Sounded kinda harsh.  At leasr I said CRAP and not something else.  lol  I just wish I could get the DW6000 working right.  ohhhhhh but according to them.... it is working fine......  200 downloads is GOOD!!  Like heck they are!!  lol  Not when on the DW4020 I was gettin 1200-1500 and upload was sometimes as high as 240....  this is crap!  lol  Look I am gettin myself all worked up again....... oh I cannot wait to get home and get them on the phone!! 

my speeds are back down lower then 200 and have been all day yesterday and today.  I am soooooooooo not happy!  DWay will be gettin another call from me tonight and I promise you........ I will have my DW4020 back up and running before the night is out!!!! this is just play BULL CRAP!!

DW4000 or DW6000?

I'm not getting over 1 meg....unless 3..11....maybe20..is called over.. ....what's my average..375??

And they don't quote anything...they don't even guarantee it will work.....But they advertise BLAZING FAST SPEEDS......and do compares of 500Kbps to 33 dial up.

Do you have any idea how happy that I am now?  lol  Thats with the added tweaks!  Woohoooo!!  I might be happy with that.... for now.

I just spent an hour and half on the phone with DW support Ugh!!!  The first 45 minutes with someone that reading from a manual and I could hardly understand.  After we tried a few things and he simply got tired of talkin to me.... he put me through to level II.  Finally someone I can understand... and he was from Texas too.  LOL  I explained my situation.... AGAIN.  and he said but 200 kbs is pretty good compared to dialup and well lets just say he got an EAR full!!  I told him that Ijust paid $250 to downgrade.  My Download speeds were well over 1200 and uploads speeds were close to 240 most of the time.... and now I can barely get 200 download.  While we were on the phone he had me perform the sat speed test from mydirecway...  it was 197down/9up.  He asked me to hold and when he came back I was a little bit more then miffed. lol  I also expressed my concern over my signal strength dropping from 87 to 62.  He assured me (again) that it would have nothing to do with my speeds.  I said no, but it does have something to do with my connection during precipitation.  he asked me to hold again.  This time a superviser came online and I expressed my concerns...... AGAIN.  I told him that I wanted my DW4000 back and they can keep the freakin $250!!!!!  He was very nice and said that he understood my frustrations and that he was gonna put the tech back on the line and he would walk me through changing the transponder I was on... which is what caused the signal strength to drop when we "downgraded".  Well low and behold.... he changed my transponder and look at this............

I am sooooooooo mad at myself for upgrading to the DW6000 from the DW4020!!!  My speeds were always at 1200 download and 260 for upload on the DW4020.  Now with this peice of junk I am lucky to get 300 download and 18 upload.  I have read through these forums a thousand times and tried to do the tweaks suggested... but I just don't think I am doing something right.  Can someone please help me to get my speeds back up.  I dread another call to DW support!!!  Ugh!! 

I am running Windows XP Home SP2.  Sygate Pro Firewall, AVG Pro Anti-virus.  DW6000 for a week now and they REFUSE to let me go back to the DW4020.... even though the equipment is mine!!!!!!!!!  I am just soooooo miffed at the moment.  Anyone have any ideas?
