what is the news server for Road Runner in Raleigh NC?

well i read those that thread .. my problem isn't quite the same. The router doesn't reboot .. it just randomly can't get to sites. like there's too much noise on the line for the signal to come through. I also thought it might be a DNS problem because there are a couple sites I can get to usually no matter what. Other times I have awesome connectivity and speed. I posted my speeds on another thread and I am sometimes getting almost 8 Mb/s on a 4 Mb/s connection. It's just that when I can't get to those sites sometimes, it really blows. And it usually happens when I am researching something for school. I'll try changing some settings and see if it has an effect. thanks for the info above

are you paying for extra bandwidth? surely your tweaks didnt get you to 720% over the average customers' bandwidth

I dont know the absolute cap, but it is advertised at up to 4 mb/s at $40/month .. premimum service is up to 5 mb/s at $55/month. I pay $40/month.

you can see my initial speeds at the top of this thread, the later speeds are after implementing Vanburen's cablenut tweaks. I can only get these speeds around this time of day though, much lower at night.
