  1. I didn't notice he had 2 video cards? Also a single 8800GTX will run just about any games at highest settings on a 24" wide screen monitor, so SLI is pointless, unless you wanna get 2 8800GTX and impress all the ladies at lan parties C2D e4300 is insanely overclockable, and that mother board helps even more - proof in the link. http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2903&p=1 Sure the higher cache on higher end core 2 duos help, but honestly your not going to notice between 60 FPS and 70 FPS , let alone 180 FPS or 190 FPS Also forgot to note, just because the northbridge isn't 680i doesn't mean it can't have SLI(although the motherboard I listed _doesn't)
  2. 680i is pretty pointless, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128012 is a insanely good motherboard for the price, save a bit on the mobo and get some good ram to push that c2d even further ;]
  3. motorola canopy to be exact, and im about 5-6 clear viewable miles from the tower average latency on 56k while playing wow = 900 average latency on whatever you would call this = 150 heres some speed tests: :::.. 4. i been googling stuff and i have read alot of articles about the government giving grants to non profit organizations that help people get broadband in rural areas. anyone know of a organization that actually does this? thanks

now cyberonic says i might beable to get like a 7xx/1xx DSL for 70$ a month for where we live, it would be a 200$ installation fee _IF_ thhey could make it work, if it doesnt work out here it we dont have to pay anything... so i suppose it is worth a shot, if it doesnt work out here, we dont pay a dime, if it does we pay 20$ for a router[which ill just buy my own] and 200$ installation fee.... worth a try cuz i know i can atleast get 3xx up and atlast XX upload[above 60kbps i home ] EDIT: removed huge blank space :Dlewis23
  7. after i put some thought into it, 8500$ for cable just isnt worth it, because in 3 years ill be going to college and ill need a laptop + desktop + books + stuff of that matter, and that money would cover a large portion of whatever i need. plus FiOS will be in many places in 3 years i hope ^^ also i need a car in 1 year which is nearly double all that.... i am wrong about the cellphone internet , i can get that hear ... its 25$ a month for unlimited data which isnt bad ;/ i have few questions... would it be atleast 128kbps download or upload? is the latency good? im actually not interested in gg download/upload[ well it helps but just anything above 128kbps is great] i just need low latency for games i only need this if i can keep a CONSISTANT 400 or bellow ping ;D what will i need to hook up my phone to my computer? i know not all phones can do this, but would a phone with a data cable be best? or would blue tooth or rf be better? i plan to buy a phone that is under 600$ because i want it to double as internet whenever im not home[ so i want a full qwerty keybord] because the 25$ = unlimited data, and unlimited text message ;p so could someone help me pick out a good phone that would beable to connect to my computer so my computer could get internet thanks...

it isnt bad but i got this in august and core 2 duo was already out and i regret not getting one -.- and its a little to late now to get one because quad cores are coming out in 07
  9. just get a core 2 duo and good motherboard ~ or just wait for the new quad core c2d because the dual cores will go way down in price, or just get the quad one... theres already a high end quad core core 2 duo extreme out, but its like 1100bux lol
  10. i did lol -.- the only thing i would buy at bestbuy is a mouse/keybord mainly because i wanna see how well they feel ;] yeah everytime i use 3 day shipping with ups on newegg i alwasy get in 2 days ;] , and when i order 2 days i alwasy get in 1-2 days ^^ even after shipping most stuff is still usually cheaper @ newegg compared to retail stores.

i dont think im up to trying... my dad keeps saying its going to be 20k+ because he says contractors will wanna charge us by the foot[not the cable lol] and im pretty sure a contractor wouldnt want to be paid by the foot and then he says the cost of cable [copper] is alot ;/ i know it is, but i also know a contractor isnt going to want that much just for the work.... suddenlink said we would have to get, the cable , the contractors[suddenlink workers wouldnt do this], and whatever else i would need ;/ i wonder how fast the work would be though, would it take about a week to put down 3.5 miles of cable and everything? o_O

get yourself a circular saw with a blade for masonry or rock. then steal some traffic cones. block off the highway one lane at a time in the middle of the night, slice into it about 1 inch deep with the saw and lay the cable into it. seal it with tile grout so it doesn't come back out. when you get to the trunk just dig it up and cut it. wait for the repair crew to show up and splice it then dig it up again, open their splice and add your cable. then get someone in town to subscribe to their service so you get an activated modem and hook it up at your house. voila! lol that put a smile on my face... i assume you mean start from my house and work my way to the highway? o_O also the trunk isnt under the ground it is above ground hangning under a power line lol

would be nearly impossible for 2 people to get some huge cables across a busy highway -.- so you guys think it will be at most of 7k installed/everything ready to go? i been connecting at 4Kbps for the past 2 weeks/does this everytime it rains and it is driving me nuts as hell.. considering when i do connect at 24Kbps WoW is still barely playable, forget diablo 2 and cs 1.6 loooooool also, as i said before it would be nearly impossible to run cable lines our self.... how would we even connect our cables to the trunk ? edit: the people along the highway[the people with the cable trunk in front of house] dont even get cable... so what would they do to connect our line to the trunk?
  15. also do us all a favor and use newegg, it is generally cheaper then bestbuy LoL

the cable plant is a good 9 miles from here... only 1 neighbor actually, they would definitly get cable internet lol.... but thats literally the only person besides me . . . we are only 2 people that would get the cable internet/tv[which we prefer directv anyways] that the cable line would go by lol... thanks i will, and im also going to ask them about the internet through powerlines where would i get 3.5 miles of cable, or how would i even connect the cable line to the big cable trunk ROFL? even if i was able to connect it to the big cable trunk how would i go about get a cable line across a really busy 4 lane highway? heck if i get that far there is 2 more roads i have to get cable across, on top of that theres 10 peoples yard i would have to dig into annd have a chance i hit a phone line..... yeah i dont think thats a option... thanks , my dad was thinking about 15000-20000 dollars for this cause copper is so damn exspensive around here.... and a neighbor split it 50/50[the only neighbor] lol they have 2 kids in college atm , just about a new car and bought one there kids a new computer just a little back , so i dont think they will consider getting cable the most they would do is get the internet lol

no one has cable for 5-7 miles :] [ which is how far town is ] and the reason why theres a cable trunk on highway is because theres town west and east of this houseand the town west of me has a 12mile cable trunks going to town east some people would say we lives out in the "boondocks" well we sorta do..... i just can put up with this dialup bullshit any more .... the phone lines we have are from 1970s with wholes/sticking out of ground... when it rains water gets into the lines and grounds them out and im currently connectings @ 4.8kbps .... when the road grader comes by it gets cut in half and no phone/internet.... So, a fiber run and a fiber node are probably the best option, unless there are other homes and neighborhoods that they would pass on their way to you, then it would make financial sense. neighborhood? ha... it would pass about only 10 houses.... and suddenlink around here doesnt deal with fiber .... + there isnt ANY fiber around here except sbc.... and again its running under the cable line and thats how town east gets phone/internet from town west lol what kinda internet would i get from SBC if we had a fiber line ran out here? again it would be 3.5 miles also.... would it be cheaper then cable? also sbc only offers up to 6mbit/ like 712 up? while suddenlink offers 12mbit/1mbit internet O_O basically, we DON'T live near town, and no one around here even has a computer or even know wtf the internet is....... the ONLY cable/fiber is the big trunks going from one town to another so you guy think it will be about 6k? o_O my dad keeps think it will be 20000 then again he hates the internet ... then again hes tired of hearing me complain about dialup lolololol
  19. no lol and a 7900gs will need just as much power as a x1950 PRO, which that card isnt even that good compared to a x1900XT [which i dont know price on both them offhand] .... i recomend getting a decent psu for 50-80$ and buying a 7600GT which wouldnt be THAT bad for running new games ....
  20. :[ well lets see, i contacted sbc about getting dsl and they said it can only go up to 22000 feet, and we are 55000 feet by the way the lines run, but there is a cable trunk on the highway which is 3.5 miles from our house.... it is cox/suddenlink whatever you would call them line and they said we COULD get a line ran from that trunk to our house... but for a price -.- does anyone know how much it would cost for a 3.5 mile cable line + whatever else they would have to do?... the sales person said it would be a week before they got a quote -.- thanks o_O
