  1. hello everyone! i have three computers connected on the same network, two of which are connected via wireless network and the third directly. All the computers have the workgroup name HOME_NETWORK. In addition, 2 of the computers are running Windows Xp Professional and the third is running Xp Media Center Edition. My problem is whenever i use remote desktop and i click on browse computers, an error pops up saying that "the HOME_NETWORK domain/workgroup does not contain any terminal servers. is there any way that when i highlight and click browse computers that it shows all the computers on the network. If you need more information, just let me know and I'll be glad to provide it. Thanks in advance for your help. Langston....

  6. sorry it took so long to reply. i though i responded to you. Anyways, i'm running mandrake linux mandriva 2006. Linux sees the device as a usb device instead of a wireless adapter. I am unable to find a driver for the wireless interenet adapter (linksys model WUSB11 ver 2.6).

  9. My internet is going smooth again. Thanks for your help. The problem must of been something on time warners part. Have a good day
  10. My internet connection was tweaked with Tune up utilities 2006. I used the wireless optimization setting for 2/3 of the computers and on the ethernet computer, i used the LAN optimization setting. I checked to see if the settings were tampered and they weren't.
  11. I resetted the modem this morning. My anti-spyware scans for spyware each day at 2 am. My cable modem has an allowed access list so the modem only allows only the 2 computers. So i doubt that someone is leeching my speed. The test was wireless. Speeds on the wired computer are ~150 k/s. I'll contact Road runner today.
  12. For the past week, Road Runner has been real slow. I can't reach speeds when surfing the web more than around 50-60k/sec. I'm at least supposed to reach speeds of at least 350k/sec. I puchased a 5 megabit internet package from Road Runner. I have 3 (2 wireless, 1 ethernet) windows xp computers, each with service pack 2 installed. One computer is a HP Pavilion A510e (3.2 gig processor) with 512mb of ram. The second computer is a off brand computer that has a AMD chip (2.4 gig processor) with 512 of ram with. The third computer is also an off brand with a intel celeron chip (500 megahetz processor) with 128 mb of ram. I have a Toshiba PCX5000 cable modem. The 2 wireless computers are using usb Linksys WUSB11 wireless adapters. I pinged all 3 computers several times on pcpitstop.com and the average ping time was ~1000.3 milliseconds. There's a sample speed test that was taken on one of the computers. If you need anymore information, just let me know. Thank you in advance for your help in this matter. .. 14. I have a D-Link DP-G310 print server.
  15. I do not know if anyone is having this problem but today i bought a wireless print server hoping that it would work with my printer. I come to find out that my printer is indeed not compatable with the wireless print server. My printer is an all-in one printer. It's a Lexmark X125 to be specific. So my question is are there any print servers that are compatable with all-in one printers or do I have to buy a new printer? Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.
  16. I'll need more information. Is your speed slow when you are surfing the web or is it when you download files? What is your advertised speed. If possible, can you ping your connection so I can see what I need to do? Thanks
  17. If I were you, I would uninstall Zone Alarm, because this program has a tendency to lower your speed. This is usually the trick to increasing your bandwidth.
  18. What type of modem do you have, because I had the same problem and they had to replace the modem.
  19. My problem is fixed. Thank you So much
  20. I am using a modem provided by Road Runner. The modem is a Scientific Atlanta Webstar DPR2320 modem/router. The wireless adapter I'm using is a Linksys usb11 modem. The wireless connection was fine when it was installed, but later on the connection started slowing dowm. I scanned my computer for spyware and viruses and I don't have any. I have an additional question, should I replace the products that I have now and if so what products would you reccomend? Thanks for your time.
