  1. How do I know if I am having line problems? Do I have to call Insight and ask. If so, I am not looking forward to that - they will give me the run around like always. There is no firmware update for my router, so it shouldn't be my router. Like I said the router was bought in September.
  2. I am from Louisville - I have no idea. I hooked the router back up and it seems like a lot better for whatever reason.
  3. So I guess the slow speeds I was getting was because of the router - doesn't make sense to me. Here is my tracert with the router connected Tracing route to testmy.net [74.52.182.125] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.1 2 20 ms 38 ms 19 ms 74-129-64-1.dhcp.insightbb.com [74.129.64.1] 3 224 ms 272 ms 249 ms 74-128-19-5.dhcp.insightbb.com [74.128.19.5] 4 355 ms 231 ms 208 ms 74.128.8.233 5 233 ms 1649 ms 292 ms te-4-1.car2.Chicago2.Level3.net [4.71.250.1] 6 240 ms 204 ms 287 ms ae-32-52.ebr2.Chicago1.Level3.net [4.68.101.62] 7 234 ms 433 ms 271 ms ae-78.ebr3.Chicago1.Level3.net [4.69.134.62] 8 333 ms 374 ms 375 ms ae-3.ebr2.Denver1.Level3.net [4.69.132.61] 9 436 ms 497 ms 435 ms ae-1-100.ebr1.Denver1.Level3.net [4.69.132.37] 10 275 ms 290 ms 469 ms ae-2.ebr2.Dallas1.Level3.net [4.69.132.106] 11 232 ms 214 ms 251 ms ae-72-72.csw2.Dallas1.Level3.net [4.69.136.142] 12 343 ms 260 ms 370 ms ae-24-79.car4.Dallas1.Level3.net [4.68.19.70] 13 198 ms 212 ms 199 ms THE-PLANET.car4.Dallas1.Level3.net [4.71.122.2] 14 310 ms 189 ms 221 ms te7-2.dsr02.dllstx3.theplanet.com [70.87.253.26] 15 210 ms 212 ms 344 ms 7a.fd.5746.static.theplanet.com [70.87.253.122] 16 228 ms 258 ms 197 ms po1.car03.dllstx6.theplanet.com [12.96.160.5] 17 210 ms 215 ms 139 ms 7d.b6.344a.static.theplanet.com [74.52.182.125] Trace complete. My roommates were not home when I had the router up, therefore they were not using the Internet. Any ideas of what to do? Router is two or three months old. Thanks.
  4. Here you go - no idea what all this means. Perhaps you can decipher it?
  5. I will run a free online scan tonight when I am sleeping - I will try TrendMicro's Housecall. I do however have Symantec Antivirus that scans every night when I am sleeping and haven't seen it detect anything for a long time. I guess I need to call Insight, even though I know they won't say or do a thing about it. OK - Here are the stats on my roommates computer. 6. I imagine I used to routed through Atlanta first as well. All I am saying is that we pay over $110 a month for cable and internet services. It's pretty much a damn monopoly. We have no other choices for internet - I'm 24 and very few people my age has a land line telephone nowadays. So DSL is out of the question. 7. Wow - that is all I can say. Speed was average at best. I live in the south end of Louisville and I play online games from time to time. I can't even play now - my ping is all over the place. Anywhere from 70 ms 250 ms and then spikes to 700 or 800 ms sometimes. Ridiculous. I've rebooted the router and modem about 5 times - router is less than two months old. Check out my weak speeds.
