  1. Not really. Providers set limits obviously. Generally you get download speeds you won't hit all the time, however, upload speeds, you'll find yourself hitting constantly. Basically the only way to legally get a higher upload is to pay for it. Of course, unless you are filesharing, there is no reason to have a faster upload. <RIAA> Filesharing is bad! </RIAA>
  2. Thank your ISP for that... ^^^ Fact.

    YAY!

Well, about your upload test, are you doing it based on a "text" file so to speak or a binary file? Text always goes fast as shiznit for both upload and download, I remember that from way back in the day. Now about your damn video card, *flips you off!* That porbably costs more than my entire workstation! LoL

  5. Yeah, go wired, wireless just seems a tad too *ick* when it comes to crap like interference. Unless you cut through one of your cables, you're connected.
  6. Well, satellite is a $600 install and $120/mo, for like 512k/256k service... DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT! The wireless though is 512k/256k for $40/mo with a $200 install ($150 if I sign for a year), or $60 for 1024k/256k. It should be ok... too bad commspeed doesn't tell you what they really have, they just make people believe they have mad bandwidth. lol I may be down in phx for a few days next month, if I am, we'll have to grab a pizza or some shiz.
  7. I should be back once we get someone who can run the damn country the right way! Or when I get a $40k+ a year job admining servers... Otherwise, I'm stuck here on dialup for a while. There is cable out here, just not bi-direction cable internet. I'm going to be getting commspeed.net wireless crap in the next few weeks, it'll suck, but it won't be dialup!
  8. Hey cable, what's up? I'm back up in the great Sedona thanks to the economy SUCKING! How's life dude? - MRP

    Linux

Linux on broadband is easy with simple networking and NAT. What exactly are you asking?
  10. Unforunately, no matter what type of documentation you show your provider, they will most likely tell you that the service was not down, and that you are wrong in your documentation. To avoid this, perhaps look for other local servers?
