  2. Here are the results for a speed test today (2992) through a Linksys G wireless gateway/router behind a DW7000.

For me, this is absolutely GREAT!!

2 of my 3 pc's tested at this speed and the third is about 75 - 100 feet away from the Linksys and in a different building. I was also streaming audio at the same time!

    The 3rd tested at 1175.....

Very happy with DW7000...it's just very expensive!

  3. the ip address of the router is the same as the DirecWay system control page...therefore i cant bring up the router page..i have rebooted the router and unplugged the cable from the modem so i could use that ip to acess the page to try to change the ip on the router ...but for some reason the routerwont accept it after its been changed..confused yet?

  4. For what they want to upgrade and the length of the contract, I would certainly want the DW7000 to be brand spankin' new.....not returned by a disatisfied customer only to be reboxed and sent out. It surely should have been wiped clean before it was sent to you. It is the least you should expect.....

I am having interrupt issues tonight and losing the smtp sporadically.

  5. I had a similar problem, however mine passed the Cros-pol screen.....cant figure out why Dway is sending us refurbished 7000's? The first modem I got (they blamed my low speeds on bad modem) did not have to change transponders and such, it must have been new. The other gripe with this is, if

These results vary slightly (TOD, WX, Traffic, etc) but I seem to be staying quite close to these results....much better consistency than the DW6000! :D:-P:D

  10. Not bad, Heck of alot better than dial up-

What part of MN are you in?

West central...near Detroit Lakes. DSL is available, but speed is guaranteed "out the door" (256Kbps). By the time it gets here, it's a much lower speed...copper loss (190-200 Kbps). And DWAY is the same $ so a much better deal. Only issue I've ever had is weather.....oh, and maybe primetime.
  11. Average ping to yahoo.com is 665 ms. My upload tested out terribly slow...which is not satisfactory. It is snowing here in MN and the dish has some snow on it. A clear day should improve it....if it doesn't, Direcway will be involved!

  12. I had the same issue with my install, failing to register, or something like that. I unplugged the power cord to reboot, waited several seconds (30+) and when it powered back on, it registered and then went through several downloads and worked. It took about 1-1/2 hrs or so. Getting speeds like this now all the time.....

The above are the stats after upgrade. At times I would get close to 1100 Kbps download the w/DW6000, but not regular. I hope the 7000 stays this way. The service costs enough......

  14. Is the IP address that displays in the lower corner of this message once posted the IP address that is picked up from my DW6000? The IP address that shows is not the IP that is in my DW6000 configuration page.

  15. I would assume the only reason one would need a static IP address is that a dhcp address can be lost if the device (DW6000) is powered off long enough to lose it's reservation.....we have reservations setup for 7 days on our dhcp server at work. Anyone know the length of time Hughes has it's dhcp server set up to keep reservations? I also would assume that the VPN cannot detect whether your have a static IP address or if you have a dhcp address. I guess I will have to get it setup and give it a try :?:

  16.

I want to setup a VPN into my network at work DWAY CS has just told me I cannot do that, as I have DW-6000 ($60/mo), consumer edition (or something like that) and I would have to upgrade to the Professional edition (or something like that $100/mo). Does anyone know if he was correct?

    A little faster than normal.

  18. This is better than DSL....don't hope it comes to your area. The ISP in this area (local phone company) sells 256 (out the door) for $60.00. My DW6000 regularly stays in the 1M range for the same $60.00 (I have to buy equipment (a bummer). Here it is tonight.... :-P[glow=red,2,300][/glow]

  19. TWeaking IE, DW6000, etc has kept my connection at 1M. Rural MN doesn't have much for choices, dial up or expensive DSL at 256, DirecWay is great!....even if it is governed.  :D
