  1. No problem vanburen. Has the username Tiesto been taken yet? My friends already know about this site ive already told them a million times. Thanks for all your help all the same - much appreciated.
  2. OS: Windows XP Pro Corp w/ SP2 Service: NTL 2MB DSLReports Result: test offline TestMy.net Speed Test: 1061kbps | UCSC Speed Test: 768kbps Cable modem connected via USB. Connection via Ethernet is extremely slow for me (less than 50kb/s from Microsoft) Using ZoneAlarm Pro 4.5 - No loss of speed anywhere apart from typical speed test sites No viruses found. No spy/adware found. I am not wanting to hack any registry files etc as there isnt actually anything wrong with my connection as such. I get typical speeds of over 200KB/s on some Torrents, ~250KB/s from typical webservers...Speed test sites seem to be the only problem - BandwidthPlace.com, DSLReports, TestMy.net etc.
  3. Modem is completely untouched. On the second link im getting 198KB/s (1.95MB/s). First link im getting: Your connection is: 1667 Kbps (about 1.7 Mbps) You downloaded at: 203 kB/s Have went to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/content_provider/film/contentshowcase.aspx and downloaded some of those. Right now its downloading at 250KB/s and get 70MB in less than 5minutes.
  4. Hello there. I am in the UK and with the ISP called NTL. I was previously on the 750K connection which was rated at about 730kbps. They have recently given me a free speed upgrade and i now run on a 2mbps connection. Im getting download speeds of over 240KB/s from places like Microsoft, Downloads.com and any other half decent server. Im also getting well over 200KB/s on the BitTorrent network. But ever since the upgrade, it only ever says im running at 1mbps here, and any other speed test site for that matter. Whats wrong? Is it just a fault on the ISP side? Transparent proxy?
