  1. NY...FL?

The contractors seems to have their heads up their asses lately.

    I'm REALLLY SORRY

PM me or email me i'll see what we can do ill get ahold of a few Supervisor's see what cog's can be moved. ya know?

  2. best way i can describe bandwith on a normal connection is it act much like a seesaw

if your DL and UL are idle and your just sitting there then it will be level and your testing should come back fine.

If your getting better download speed ie 15.2-15.5 then your upload will suffer and vice versa now this is not the standard way of thinking but its the easiest and most undertood method for explaining the way bandwith works in most cases for services like cable and verizon's fios.

Hope that helps on explaining if it didnt oh well i tried and im vored so BLAH! LOL

    :D

but yea ur speed DL wise looks fine try re-testing a few times at different times and if it doesn't improve then try those cablenut settings unfortunately they can garantee 2Mbps on UP TO 2Mbps

    :(

Any more questions or just wanna know more lemme know i'm happpy to help.

  3. like i siad i didnt mean to speak bad about the testmy.net servers this place kick's ass! i love it in fact I'M the one who recommended using Testmy.net as a sort of standard speed test site in the RI FSC aside from the Verizon one we have and the Miranda one of course...This place is the FIRST PLACE i bring every customer i speak to regarding a speed issue.. SO BOW BEFORE ME!! LOL ...kidding :P

    :D

  6. Short answer. No.

    Long answer: f*** no.

    :D

merely because of the sheer bandwidth capabilities that FiOS provides using a 56k modem would NOT be applicable.

I think it would explode from all the download pipey...umm goodness. and the upload pie-like tasty...ness....

sorry i've been up for 48hrs straight dealing with on duty customers and off duty friend questions..my brain ummm opposite feels good.

BAD! that's it....negative good!....stupid squishy grey matter. be more smarter like!

    :(

    blah!

  7. i cant imagine a bad TCP setting would reflect that poor speed

sounds like a bad cross connect at our end call us up and we will do our best to fix it...also is this a wired pc or wireless?

we can always disp out a tech and it wont cost you anything if its our fault.

  8. heh i had a guy yesterday saying he had 5down and 5 up when he ordered the 15/2 plan so there are rumors that guys at the co are tweaking up speeds throttling them up and what not testing the bending so to speak of the speed caps they put in place.

dont quote me tho as its IS just a rumor floating around BUT judging by some of the speeds on here.....seems to be somewhat sound.

  9. Try This....

    Download This

    Tcp Recieve window : 307824

    Windows Scaling: Yes

    Time Stamping: No

    Selective Acks: Yes

    Path MTU: Default

    Black Hole Detection: Default

Max Dip. Acks : Leave Blank

    MTU: 1492

Adapter Settings: Leave on your Nic Card Adapter

    Save, Restart, Test

Works bout 9 times out of 10 at work with cust.'s

if that dont then try Cablenut somewhere round here.

Hope I helped. If not then call the FSC and see what we can do fromour end.

  10. yes all FiOS cust are locally powered and No the battery replacement wont be a nightmare since u can go out and buy any battery on the market that matches the model and type we use which is basically one of those big flashlight batteries.
