Here's the Hardware:
Comcast Cable Modem
Linksys Wireless G Router
Dell Laptop running Windows 7
Dell Laptop running Windows XP
Dell Desktop running Windows Vista
Here's the Problem:
The two laptops both connect to the router no problem (wirelessly)
The desktop won't with any browser (explorer, and safari both tried)
What I've tried:
Restarting modem, router, and desktop
I've ran both anti-virus and spyware software, and both say everything is fine
I've ran the windows diagnostic tools also says it's connected fine.
I ran ipconfig in command prompt and it finds an IP and shows the connection is fine.
I've tried typing in alternate web pages to make sure it wasn't a cached page.
I've cleared all browsing history.
I checked the proxy in tools and there was none.
In lan settings I set it to automatically detect the settings.
I also tried connecting the desktop both wirlessly and hard-wired. Each saying that the connection is fine.
It seems like it should be a very simple software setting somewhere!! It's actually my mom's computer and her idea was to wipe the computer.
I CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND I'M BECOMING EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED!!!
Please help..
