  1. Getting closer. DC connects now. Every now and then, though, it jumps back to the original server. Take a peek at my data. And, I'm getting two frames now, a thin one at the top that has another page in it. I think I've seen this with the original site, but not in a long while. When an auto test is done, it's taking me to the data, but the three buttons on the top right are missing - on is the force re-test button.
  2. I seem to have all my data back. Not sure what that was all about. I hadn't done anything different. However, Chrome lost it's brain shortly after I started having this problem. I tried to default to the DC site. You probably know it's not quite working. Yesterday I was getting an endless loop error. Today, I get "The requested URL /tools/test/scheduled.php was not found on this server."
  3. I went back to my usual automated testing, and all my historical data appears to have been blitzed. I didn't clear cookies or anything. Where did it go??
  4. Any way I can make it "stick" on the dc site? It keeps going to the original site unless I use the back button.
  5. Well, I think officially it's 17Mbps, but I had been getting around 20Mbps, probably due to SpeedBoost or whatever Cox calls their initial download speed boost. Yes, something between me and the original server, but it'd be nice to figure out what. David
  6. Using the dc.testmy.net site, I'm actually getting faster speeds than I was before. Take a look at my data. I should also note that I was downloading a software update in parallel with this test. I had to use the back button to rerun the test and stay on the dc site, so the slower speeds in the middle are from the original site. So, what's this mean!?!?! David Here's the tracert, just in case... 7. I tested my speed with some of the other sites, and I'm getting 20M, like I used to get here. So, something in the setup between me and you has changed.
  8. I haven't changed any router or modem settings lately, but could I have caused this?
  9. Here's the tracert, which has some timeouts in it.... I don't know if this comes into play, but I'm using OpenDNS for my DNS service. BTW, the upload speed comes and goes. I can sometimes reboot the modem and get it back to near 4Mb, but it usually drops back to 1Mb after a while. David
  10. Since last Thursday, testmy.net is measuring my speed at half what it had been. I'm pursuing possible issues with Cox, but noticed when one of my applications downloaded an update, my Networx monitor measured it at the speed I expect to get. Is there some issue with testmy.net that would cause my speeds to be cut in half? David
  11. Well, "share" in this day and age tends to imply social networking, etc. To me, a technical person (software development), "export data" would be more meaningful. It would also make more sense if it were somewhere with the table, rather than the graph. Don't, however, put it at the bottom of the table, or it won't be found. It needs to be at the top, and yes, it's already crowded up there, so not sure what I'd suggest. BTW, I love this site. I've used it to benchmark my speeds so that when I went from basic service to preferred service I could see if I was actually getting what I pay for. I'd dropped back to basic service because I wasn't getting any faster speeds. In the mean time, I've replaced by combo modem/router/wifi with a new modem and router/wifi. Thus, I wanted to see if the new equipment would actually help. It appears that it has, at least for download speed. Upload speed, however, is 25% what it should be, except for Sunday through Friday this week, where it was was what I'm paying to get. The frustrating thing is dealing with Cox support that just returns canned email answers and doesn't appear to read any details in the trouble request..... David
  12. Thanks! That's what I wanted. I misunderstood the use of the share button. I thought that published it to the rest of the forum. I think I can put something together now. The question now is, does Cox have anyone that can figure it out! David
  13. I want to dump the Testmy.net data. Sorry about the confusion. I can get the log off my modem, and it shows the errors and reboots over the last week. What I want to be able to show is the speed difference, and when it got faster, then when it got slower. David
  14. Is there a way to grab some of my data to send off to Cox? I have been getting around 1Mbps upload speed, instead of 4Mbps. My cable modem rebooted last Sunday (it's actually been rebooting a lot lately) and I was suddenly getting 4Mbps. Yesterday (Friday), it was back to 1Mbps (my download speed is fine). I'd like to dump some data to send them to show them that change, along with my modem log. They keep wanting to send someone out to fix my setup, but the modem and router are new, and the problem is with their equipment. I'm hoping to be able to show them some log data to get them to look at their equipment. David
  15. Where is the data stored?
  16. I've upgraded my cable package, and would like to reset my stats so that my average doesn't take into account the slower speeds. I have not found any way to do that. Advise, please! Even better, if I could just delete the older data and retain the last month or so since I've been on the faster speed. David
  17. I ran across this site in searching for reviews on the Motorola SB6120 Cable Modem. Costco has this modem at a good price, and I am trying to determine if switching to this DOCSIS 3.0 modem from a Linksys WCG2000 would give me faster and more consistent speeds. Last spring I was getting fed up with Cox raising my rates, and telling me I was getting faster speeds, but not experiencing any change. I finally asked them to drop my to their lowest tier, and I continue to get the same speeds I was getting when they were charging me for their most expensive tier. I'm now trying to determine if buy new equipment would help the situation any. My current average speed is 3.2 Mbps downstream and 359 Kbps upstream. So, any opinions? Will a DOCSIS 3.0 modem make any difference? Is the Motorola SB6120 a good choice? One thing this would allow me to do is decouple the modem and wireless router. Why? So I can set up the router to use OpenDNS, which I've not been able to do with my modem/router combo. Right now I'm having to do that at the machine level. David
