  1. That is OK, you go ahead and enjoy it. I now understand your frustration with the cutback on the speeds. You are used to much more.  :smiley6600:

As you know i was getting 2 meg. But like all good things I suppose ....they all come to a end sooner or later.

If I didnt have the 2 meg download speeds i'd be none the wiser.

I'm more pissed @ the upgrade fees here,!

I can live with 1 meg ......no problem. My system has been rock solid....with the exception of the normal Mail outages that we all come to expect once in a while. But to fork over another 400 bucks,, nah!  :uglystupid2:

    Ciao..Gex

  2. <lumberg>Yeah I'm going to go ahead and ask you not to post those kind of speeds to us Hughes folks again.  Yeah.  And if you could just go ahead and post that somewhere else, that would be great.  THANKS </lumberg>

    JK

    Congrats on the cable.....

Thanks...... :/  I move into the city for the winter months (Nov to April1st) But go to my cottage every weekend where I have the Satellite internet. So i'll be seeing ya don't you worry.

  3. Moving day for me....Cable guy just left....thought i'd give it a whirl..

  4. So that is where the satelite troubled folks go.  5 pages for the last 30 days. I have to wonder why so many have so much trouble.

That one guy thinks his is fast with an "1172 Kbps about 1.2 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB)" and the "New Firefox 2.0 and Speedtweaks - Speed Explodes "

@ 6:14am. That is not that fast for a 6000.

    http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,17145558

I think a clean and light comp is the best for speed on satelite. I pull an easy 1500+ at that time of day. Heck I just pulled a 1226 Kbps (tested with 2992 kB) @  8:05pm. ^^^  Maybe I am just lucky. *crosses fingers*

:::::::::::::::::[glow=red,2,300]And thats on a home plan 6000 with an up to 500 Kbps download[/glow].::::::::::::::::::::::::

And I remember the days of 1800/2250. Warning :police :police:

  5. For a start I was born in the first half of the last century. Learned how to cut and split wood, still do, cook on a wood stove, tote water from the pump down on the bottom of the lawn, use oil lamps and Coleman lanterns for light, and maintain outdoor facilities. Wish there were PC's when I went to school, but now I got Satellite Internet, let my fingers do the talking and shopping. I'm wired now, got electric, also wireless.

    Ooooooh  a Canuck?

    G11

  6. Actually I have never visited DSL reports. What do they do over there. I hear ghostmaster refer to it once in a while. But that is about it.

This with Windows Defender doing a full scan in the background, 2 TMN pages linked, Outlook Express open, and soliotaire open also.

So are you working on another understudy shug  :?:

Want a chuckle Tommie go see for yourself........>  http://www.dslreports.com/forum/sat

  7. Well ISDN will cost me 70 bucks /month for the 2 lines plus the ISP fees.....about the same as Satellite.! I'm going to pay month by month for now until such time as Wireless point to point comes my way. There will never be Cable or DSL @ this location. Oh well could be worse..... I was checking the forums @ dslreports.com there seems to be allot of sour notes over the 7000's.With allot of users barley making the 500k mark.

I will be moving to the City @ the end of the month (for the Winter) were Cable is scheduled to be installed Nov1st.

Good luck with your Hunt Tommie.

  8. Well for me to upgrade,,,,,,it will cost 400 bucks for the BUC / LNB mod and modem..... then an additional fee for the so called dish tweak then more money for the licencing fee. not to mention a contract of 12 Months.!

Well.....it's just not going to happen! I told them.

I'm affraid my days are numbered as to how long i'm going to keep this ISP. I'm really considering going ISDN with another phone line until such a time as Wireless comes my way.

I have fulfilled my contract of 89.99/month plus taxes for a total of 103.49/Month for 12 months so I'm paying per month now. @ the same rate I might add!

Then he had the Balls to tell me that the /month rate would be cheaper than what i'm paying now.

Bad move!! now i'm pissed! i'll be intouch,

    Ciao/// Gex

  9. I believe your correct Ghostmaster [quote author=ghostmaster link=topic=16302.msg175970#msg175970 date=115

    9832295]

Told ya,  It usually takes a day or 2 to get the thread going.

It appears they are moving 4000 users to the same transponders, thus crowding the transponder with 4000 users and lowering speeds.

  10. It appears you have been hijacked/

Here's some interesting whois information for you over these hackers.

It may be a good idea for you to email [email protected] and ask them to shut these websites down, or perhaps do a google search for tolga yildiz

  11. It may seem like i'm complaining about 1 Meg when really its not that bad however when you were traveling @ twice that speed it seems in relation "a walk in the park". I was just looking  dsl reports.com and found out some interesting relations to DirecWay which i'll post just incase you havent seen them before.

The following satellites/transponders currently have upload/download speed results stored in them. Just click the satellite/transponder to see its results:

    http://www.webfixes.com/speedlog/intermediate.php?cb=50741025818937&FI=N

It seems that most don't see 1 Meg.

    Also chech this out------>  http://www.dslreports.com/archive/direcpc.com

  12. Well I got desperate..I uninstalled direcway...cleared the Registry....reloaded 4.2.1.10  and then reloaded tweaks... here is the result.
