I hope so, I've dealt with the lower speeds with the wireless company for a little over a year. I live in a town where the population is 650 people where for the longest time the phone company was the only game in town now they have competition. Hi Beam is getting better, 5/1 is good enough for me.

Wireless internet through a company called Hi-Beam...$55 per month for 5 down and 1 up. Small town I live in, choice is $165 per month for DSL for there 5/1 service which I paid for about 5 years until the new wireless company opened up for business. It'll be another week before I'm able to get my upload, but I"ve been working with this company and being patient with them, so I know I'll get my upload speeds soon. :::.. For the size of the town, the dsl is fast but expensive..They ran a line test on my line and said it is capable of 7 meg down and 1 meg up...Within the next 2 to 5 years will be able to have fiber optic line....I grew up in this town, so I will be here for a long time..

Yea but it is my only choise and I refuse to use dial-up..I have been on hi-speed for years and once you use it you cannot go back to dial-up...everything kind of evens out in the long run..

In a small town called Grafton, IL...Across the river from Saint Louis..They are the only internet provider other then satellite..I pay $150.00 a month for the package I have now, the small town is expanding the price of the DSL is suppose to drop in a few years... I would like to get a little more d.load speed closer to my cap..My computer is virus and spyware free...

VanBuren helped me out a great deal last year..I live in a small town I just had my DSL upgraded to the 5meg down and a 1 meg up....I am happy with the upload, but think my download could use a little tweak.. I have cablenut my default rec. window is set at 48180...dsl reports says to set between 48180 and 125560...If I put it at 125560 I get a slight hesitation and drop of speed... If you have the 15/2 package...Your upload could use a bump..I would be happy with those speeds.

it is only 1 meg on the upload. The tech guy said I might be able to get 2 meg have to wait and see..I will upgrade to the 5 meg package next week, I have to switch out my modem.

You all will be glad you do not live where I do..Small town only provider of broadband.. My DSL connection 2598898 $110.00 per month plus $32.00 per month for the phone line. They do have the 5 meg service available now for $150.00 per month.

no kiddin..only had them for 30 days..then the local phone company said i was able to get dsl..my fastest d/l with dway was around 500..upload did not even try.. i have 2 pay alot for my dsl but it is worth it..enuff upload and download to use my lingo phone so i am happy...
