I took charter's modem to begin with but my speeds weren't consistent. so I bought a linksys at wally world I got more speed and consistency with it............

I have had it with direcway's direc ripoff!! charter is hooking up the 3 meg cable for me. I have the option of buying my own modem, does ant certain brand or model give better performance? thanks

My speeds went up & down because my dish needed repointed & I was trying different things.... I sell 56k internet service with accelerator which works with phone,dsl and satelite. So I tried the accelerator with the dish and bam 4469.... but it seems to be at 1100 to 2200 most of the time
