I have had it with direcway's direc ripoff!! charter is hooking up the 3 meg cable for me. I have the option of buying my own modem, does ant certain brand or model give better performance?

anyone know why my downloads start at over 200kb's a sec and continually drop into the 40-70 kbs a sec range during a download?

I have a direcway system with a DW6000 modem. With the DW4000 download accelerator would download at 600-800 kbs but with the 6000 it doesn't speed up my download at all. is there a better accelerator to use with direcway?

My speeds went up & down because my dish needed repointed & I was trying different things....

I sell 56k internet service with accelerator which works with phone,dsl and satelite. So I tried the accelerator with the dish and bam 4469.... but it seems to be at 1100 to 2200 most of the time
