Sacrifist Posted December 7, 2004 CID Share Posted December 7, 2004 I just got a 250 gb external drive and it was prefomatted as one big partition. My question is , do i have to reformat the drive to make partitions or should i just get partition magic. I dont want to put anything on it until i have it partitioned. justinlay Posted December 7, 2004 CID Share Posted December 7, 2004 Ive always heard creating more that one partition to a hard drive tends to slow things down. If im wrong please correct me
Mr. Hahn Posted December 7, 2004 CID Share Posted December 7, 2004 I don't see why it would slow it down. Yes, just get PartitionMagic and make a new partition. It shouldn't be a big deal.
