al244 Posted January 18, 2006 CID Share Posted January 18, 2006 Just curious what you guy's like. I also need a good site to upload my stuff to. A site with decent download speed to download from, no stupid waiting forever MegaUpload crap and then clicking a pop-up to download, and umm your files don't expire after a week or a limited number of downloads. I really liked YouSendIt until I found out that your files could expire, so I don't know what's good anymore. Download accelerator allowed is also a nice feature to an upload site! jypagan Posted January 18, 2006 CID Share Posted January 18, 2006 I have used all of them but Yousendit > Pro.
Guest jeffwalker9999 Posted January 18, 2006 CID Share Posted January 18, 2006 I have used all of them but Yousendit > Pro. is really fast if you have to download something Cons. You have limits (ex. 7Days for the file been posted or certain numbers of downloads then goes expired) Megaupload > Pro. You only have to wait 45sec. to start the download Cons. Only will let you download only one at the time unless you have a premium membership. Rapidshare > Pro. descent download speeds Cons. If you download big files, you have to wait minutes(my longest wait 77min.) Only one file at the time. Unless you have a premium membership An other option ishttp://www.foldershare.com ( now owned by microsoft ) I personally use it between many users and on cable modem, dsl and yes even a dial up user ( share a folder between users and no size limit ) And I use http://www.pando.com/beta/what is limited to 1 gig file size http://www.beta.yousendit.com
al244 Posted January 18, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 18, 2006 Beta YouSendIt? Is that YouSendIt without the 1-week limit or limited downloads? If it is then that's awesome! Also, is Foldershare for use on computers in like the same house, and Pando for use in e-mail only? Can you upload something, and then copy the link and send it to someone? Also, is Foldershare for use on computers in like the same house, and Pando for use in e-mail only? Can you upload something, and then copy the link and send it to someone? yes as to your question hope this helps you understand the applications ::::: beta yousendit- ( Email Attachments Based ) from what I get it allows more senders and tracking Send files to up to 50 recipients; we'll hold your files for 7 days. Full tracking=Manage files that you've received and see if your sent files have been picked up. Still has a 1 gig limit www.Foldershare.com ( all pc's need to have the software ) ( Non EMail Attachment Based - Application ) Keep important files at your fingertips - anywhere. All file changes are automatically synchronized between linked computers, so you are always accessing the latest documents The FolderShare Satellite will run in the background when you are online ( each pc ). As you update shared or synced files, it will automatically update them on the other devices connected. ( set for autosync in account management page ) As I said,I use it between 8 pc's using the satelite software and on cable modem , dsl and yes even a dial up ( las vegas nv , denver co , san jose calif , essex germany, christchurch new zealand,) ex: one folder I share has 5.15 gigs of exe, zip, iso based files Also I'm willing to share my collection with you - just ask and I'll add you as a member of the files I share under the GNU Licence [email protected] ( Email Attachments Based ) Pando - ( all pc's must have the software) http://www.pando.com/beta/what Pando is free software that lets you send and receive files and folders with your existing email account. 1 gig file sending limit - good speeds - it works ( Email Attachments Based ) http://www.civilnetizen.com/ ( all pc's must have the software) is free software that lets you send and receive files and folders with your existing email account. 1 gig file sending limit - good speeds - it works Cox Cable - North Las Vegas 5/768 $49.95 Stroke Survivor
