trogers Posted January 26, 2006 CID Share Posted January 26, 2006 Try this ccs file. The test report shows 2 possible causes for your slow download speed: Information: Network Address Translation (NAT) box is modifying the Client's IP address Server says [***********] but Client says [***********] The network based flow control limits the throughput to 0.44 Mbps Are you using a proxy server? Dok Posted January 26, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 26, 2006 no i am not using a proxy server, i am using 2 routers heres the results with that ccs file :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 365 Kbps about 0.4 Mbps (tested with 1013 kB) Download Speed is:: 45 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (server2) Test Time:: Wed Jan 25 2006 20:59:58 GMT-0600 (Central Standard Time) Bottom Line:: 7X faster than 56K 1MB download in 22.76 sec Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 13.18 % of your hosts average (charter.com) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-N48A1HPEI
trogers Posted January 26, 2006 CID Share Posted January 26, 2006 Then it is this router connection that is imposing a throughput limit of 0.44 Mbps. You need adjust your connection back to standard and retest your network. The ccs file has adjusted your throughput to more than 4 Mbps. Dok Posted February 4, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 4, 2006 I tried disconnecting both routers and here's what i got :::.. trogers Posted February 4, 2006 CID Share Posted February 4, 2006 Could you do the TCP Analyzer test again: https://www.speedguide.net/analyzer.php I think your RWIN has not been adjusted to 128480 or 256960
Razoroth Posted October 9, 2007 CID Share Posted October 9, 2007 I know this is an old thread, but if you've come across this page while searching for a solution to your slow internet connection speed from charter, read below. I'm not 100% sure this is your problem, but this may help explain a little about what is happening to you. I'm currently having this problem myself, and charter's internet service will go down because of this. You may experience download speeds from IE or Firefox of around 1-7kb/s because of this. Like I said this is only what I've come across so far, and the symptoms seem to be in charter's services and not your or my router/modem. I am currently hooked directly up to my modem. I've reset it multiple times and got the same results. Check this link out, it may help. Sun Outages
