  1. Could the cause be... https://www.speedguide.net/read_articles.php?id=125
  2. Hi wrc, I forgot what your advertised speed is. Please do a speedtest and post. Also check to ensure your signal cables and devices are plugged firmly and not placed near to other electrical devices - keep modem and router a few feet apart.
  3. When your subscription for Norton comes to an end, you may want to consider the findings in this link: http://www.techsupportalert.com/free-vs-paid-av.htm
  4. There are a few info you need to find out before you can tweak: What are your ISP advertised speeds? What is your comp's present settings with regards to MTU, RWIN and latency? Is your comp free of viruses, spyware and malware? To answer the 2nd question, do this test and post: https://www.speedguide.net/analyzer.php To answer the 3rd question, you need to scan and make sure you are clear.
  5. Guys, This was the link I found on DWAY when assisting angela641. She said she has the pro plan: http://hns.getdway.com/HNS/Rooms/DisplayPages/LayoutInitial?Container=com.webridge.entity.Entity%5BOID%5BA88DE5C756665B4FA1951234C6C9B659%5D%5D I gave her a ccs file for MTU 1460 to try at this post: http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-12072.15 If your MTU is 1500, you need a new ccs file.
  6. I think you meant 127776 in TCP Optimizer as it is a multiple of MSS 1452. So is your MTU 1492? What are your ISP's advertised speeds for download and upload? The most important settings are DefaultReceiveWindow and DefaultSendWindow. Why are they left blank? GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize should not be blank but should follow TcpWindowSize.
  7. What are the values in your ccs file for the following: DefaultReceiveWindow DefaultSendWindow GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize TcpRecvSegmentSize TcpWindowSize
  8. Try setting your ccs file with this: DefaultSendWindow - 16384
  9. I use both: first with TCP Optimizer and then Cablenut. It is like TCP Optimizer gives you a general tuneup, and then Cablenut is used for fine tuning. There are 3 parameter fields that cannot be manually tweaked by TCP Optimizer but accessable in Cablenut: DefaultSendWindow GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize TcpWindowSize
  10. I don't do clean up. Use any hard disk for 2-3 years and it's capacity will become too small. I will then buy a new hard disk, and the old one becomes a backup data disk.
  11. Here are a few tweaks that are not mentioned for Cablenut and TCP Optimizer. Please try and let us know if they are useful: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wasinfo/v6r0/topic/com.ibm.websphere.express.doc/info/exp/ae/tprf_tunewindows.html
  12. If you want to find out how much and for how long the service will SUCKS...just find out who are holding major shares in the monopoly.
  13. Are you also using Starhub cable TV? This is Starhub's link to a proper cable route and set up: http://www.starhub.com/online/maxonline/custcare/onlinetroubleshooting/broadbandaccess.html And here is Starhub's guide to check status of the modem: http://www.starhub.com/online/maxonline/custcare/onlinetroubleshooting/broadbandaccess.html If your ping for the first hop is still high, I suggest you call Starhub at 1633 for assistance.
  14. Hi there to all broadband users in Thailand, I would like to gather info on Performance and Pricing of your ISP as guide to us all. Measure for Performance: Advertised Download Speed vs Best and Worst locally tested download speed Here are my Data; ISP = True Internet Pricing = Baht 952/month unlimited (US$ 25) Speed (Kbps)= 1024 vs 1004 and 768 Location = Bangkok, Pravet
  15. I understand from ghostbuster that Dway is having some glitches. Perhaps he can help you on tuning your transponder and choice of phone set. Here is a cablenut file to tweak your window registry. Download the Cablenut Adjuster from www.cablenut.com. Use it to open the ccs file, click 'Save to Registry', exit and reboot your comp to take effect.
