huncks45 Posted January 25, 2006 CID Share Posted January 25, 2006 i will appreciate if you help me tweak my connection. i have already done cablenut but i always get the same results. the bandwidth speed given to me was 350Kbps, download of 30Kbps im behind a router d-link DI-524 and im the only one using the router :::.. trogers Posted January 25, 2006 CID Share Posted January 25, 2006 Hi, There are a few things you have to bear in mind: Speed tests performed at your ISP's site will give much better results than tests done on sites in USA. You can see this from your tracing route test. Latency within your country is less than 100 ms. When the signal got into the international gateway, latency went above 300ms and through the hops in USA, latency went into many hundreds. You cannot tweak latency from your comp. What we can try to achieve here is to tweak your comp to its max efficiency. To gauge performance before and after tweaking, it would be better if you can carry out a speed test on you ISP's site and post your results in this forum.
