Hi all, this is my first time here and I have to say you guys are awesome with all these tips and tricks, I have been following the stickys and doing everything.  Now i need to know what can i do to better my cable connection which sux at the moment, i already followed what was on the sticky but i guess i still need help, here are the results of all the tests on the sticky....

SpeedGuide.net TCP/IP Analyzer

TCP properties for IP = ()

Browser/OS = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)

Notes: Read the Analyzer FAQ if the above is not your IP address.

TCP options string = 020405b40103030301010402

MTU = 1500

MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460

Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 513920

RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 3 bits (scale factor of 6)

Unscaled Receive Window = 64240

RWIN is a multiple of MSS

Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:

256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)

128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)

64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 20556.8 kbps (2569.6 KBytes/s) @ 200ms

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 8222.72 kbps (1027.84 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 55 hops

TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000 (0)

The theoretical network limit is 0.73 Mbps

The NDT server has a 8192.0 KByte buffer which limits the throughput to 348.36 Mbps

Your PC/Workstation has a 501.0 KByte buffer which limits the throughput to 21.34 Mbps

The network based flow control limits the throughput to 1.27 Mbps

That cablenut setting is for a much faster connection than yours is, and using it may cause packet loss on your end.  Try the either the" DSL PPPOE 3000+" file or the "Cable & DSL 4000" file from Van Buren's cablenut settings v.8 [LINK].  After opening each one, be sure to save to registry from the adjuster window, then reboot your PC and try a few speedtests.  See which one of those works best for you.
