dlewis23 Posted February 4, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 4, 2006 here is some benchmarks. I have to say that this card is fast, very fast. 3Dmark 03: http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/02/02/nvidia_7800gs_confirms_agp_aint_dead_yet/page5.html 3Dmark 05: http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/02/02/nvidia_7800gs_confirms_agp_aint_dead_yet/page6.html Doom3: http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/02/02/nvidia_7800gs_confirms_agp_aint_dead_yet/page8.html HL2: http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/02/02/nvidia_7800gs_confirms_agp_aint_dead_yet/page9.html F.E.A.R: http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/02/02/nvidia_7800gs_confirms_agp_aint_dead_yet/page11.html In some tests it is actually faster then a 7800GT
Planatoid Posted February 4, 2006 CID Share Posted February 4, 2006 I'm not sure what you're looking at, but from what I see, it's not much faster than the 6800 Ultra or the X850XT PE.
dlewis23 Posted February 4, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 4, 2006 I'm not sure what you're looking at, but from what I see, it's not much faster than the 6800 Ultra or the X850XT PE. not in all apps, but it some of them, there and on some other sites, it is well beyond the 10% margin. the problem with the tests on tomshardware is there using a old socket 754 3200+. they should have used a a 3700+ or 4000+ with the newer insertions. to get better results. in some of these tests the CPU is becoming the bottleneck.
