Guest helloimtim Posted April 1, 2006 CID Share Posted April 1, 2006 When I try to run a reg file it opens in notepad instead of installing. How can I fix that.
php Posted April 1, 2006 CID Share Posted April 1, 2006 That's actually a better way to have it. Right click the reg file and click Merge to add it to the registry. If you really want merge to be the default action I can tell you how to do that.
Guest helloimtim Posted April 1, 2006 CID Share Posted April 1, 2006 When I try the merge it still opens in notepad. I would really like to just have it install automatically. Running xp pro. Thank you much.

Click edit. Action: Mer&ge Application used... regedit.exe "%1" Use DDE: checked DDE Message: Application: regedit DDE Application... Topic: System click ok, the click Set Default, ok, close.
