Guest echo Posted May 3, 2006 CID Share Posted May 3, 2006 I think your upload compared to your download seems ok (but i'm just getting into learning the ins and outs of networking/internet connection). I have Comcast 6Mbps/384kbps in Jacksonville, Florida. Here are my tests results : :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 6261 Kbps about 6.26 Mbps (tested with 5983 kB) Download Speed is:: 764 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Server 1) Test Time:: 2006/05/02 - 10:36pm Bottom Line:: 109X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 1.34 sec Tested from a 5983 kB file and took 7.828 seconds to complete Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 25.52 % faster than the average for host (comcast.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-J7V3OTILH :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 379 Kbps about 0.38 Mbps (tested with 579 kB) Upload Speed is:: 46 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Server 1) Test Time:: 2006/05/02 - 10:37pm Bottom Line:: 7X faster than 56K 1MB Upload in 22.26 sec Tested from a 579 kB file and took 12.52416 seconds to complete Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 Diagnosis: Looks Great : 1.88 % faster than the average for host (comcast.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-DJN3RXIGL I have tried every tweak out there to get it higher, but with no luck....i wasn't expecting much because I am already at 0.2mbps - 0.4mbps (the test varies a tad every now and then by a little bit) OVER the download cap and I'm right at the upload cap for my connection WITHOUT any tweaks...and everytime I try a tweak i get the same results. What are you "supposed" to be seeing? Who is your ISP, where are you located, and what do they cap your connection at?
tommie gorman Posted May 3, 2006 CID Share Posted May 3, 2006 Diagnosis is figured for everybody on btcentralplus on average. No matter what there package is. So like echo said, it depends more on what your advertised speeds are by your provider.
