Swimmer Posted May 7, 2006 CID Share Posted May 7, 2006 First welcome to the forum! The problem you are discribing it a know problem with the Geforce FX and 6xxx cards.. the only solution that I have found it to turn off Fast write in the bios.. but I am not sure that it will solve your problem.. is the card PCI-E or AGP? dlewis23 Posted May 7, 2006 CID Share Posted May 7, 2006 i actually ran into this problem on a system that i built for a friend, and fast write was the answer, once i turned it off, fixed everything. i would give it a try and see.
Swimmer Posted May 7, 2006 CID Share Posted May 7, 2006 does PCI-E have a fast write option? I dont even know if it does.. It seems that most of the time it is on the AGP older 5xxx and 6600 AGP cards.. i have seen a few 6800 cards with the problem.. but nothing PCI-E
