amish Posted May 20, 2006 CID Share Posted May 20, 2006 Anyone else have a Toshiba Satellite A75? Well you'll probably have the same problem, but it keeps overheating and shutting down. I used to have it up for 4-5 weeks with high load and daily use, and now only hours with the same load. Also the fans don't even go on high before it shuts down, just the normal speed. Anyone know how to make the temperature higher to shut down for over heating? I can't find it in the BIOS. edit: it has a P4 HT 3.2Ghz processor, but I put it down to 1.8Ghz due to it getting too hot at 3.2Ghz

amish Posted May 20, 2006 Author CID Share Posted May 20, 2006 yeah, I also got the 2 year warranty from compusa, you think I should just ask them to put in news fans? or sensors something along the lines of that.

Toshiba might have a fix for this.

Swimmer Posted May 21, 2006 CID Share Posted May 21, 2006 My guess is that there is a bios update for it.. Dell had a simular problem on the 8200 series a while back with fan dying due to over use.. Compusa should be able to fix it.. it might require a new chassis.. but shouldnt take to long to fix..
biker9075 Posted August 21, 2006 CID Share Posted August 21, 2006 Sorry to bring up an old thread but I used to have the same problem with my toshiba, they told me to use some compressed air and blow it through the vent and what do ya know, a bunch of dust comes flying out, never had the problem again.
