The Reverend Posted January 14, 2005 CID Share Posted January 14, 2005 The Univeral Plug and Play Host feature in XP System Services has nothing to do with the "Plug 'n Play" feature that enables you to insert hardware and have XP "recognise" it to aid in setting up new hardware. The Reverend Posted January 14, 2005 Author CID Share Posted January 14, 2005 Thanks for the "backup" Lance ..for some reason my computer did not inform me there was a new post! Very nice too! (I often forget that many are not using "Classic View" and so I leave it out of my posts ....rather mindless but that is one of the benefits of a fried mind you see? Billions of brains cells, only two left that function to any degree. "The Rev"

NoShow Posted January 15, 2005 CID Share Posted January 15, 2005 Start>Control Panel>Switch to Classic View>Double Click Administrative Tools>Double Click Services>Scroll Down to Plug&Play>Right Click Plug&Play select Properties Under General at Startup Type in Pulldown Menu Select Disabled Click Apply Then ok. There also are short cuts. Thanks Lance, I got it and disabled it. Thanks for your help. Much Appreciated!!
