BoneG Posted October 15, 2006 CID Share Posted October 15, 2006 Hi, Just discovered this website so, I thought I would check out the speed of my cable connection as I thought it seems a little slow. I have NTL's highest speed package, whatever that maybe! The reason I say 'whatever that maybe' is that I have always had the highest and this has automatically upgraded over the years. These are the results of a download test I ran just a few minutes ago :::.. Download Stats ..::: Download Connection is:: 2910 Kbps about 2.9 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 355 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (Server 1) Test Time:: 2006/10/15 - 3:29am Bottom Line:: 51X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 2.88 sec Tested from a 2992 kB file and took 8.422 seconds to complete Download Diagnosis:: Looks Great : 0.94 % faster than the average for host (ntl.com) D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-C24617DGP User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; (R1 1.3); .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) [!] Am I misreading the results or is it suggesting my speed is 2.9 megabits per second? I have just checked the NTL website and the top speed package is 10Mbps! Should the above results be cause for concern, i.e. a telephone call to NTL to see what I have been paying for over these past years. All comments would be greatly recieved, BoneG P.S. Is there another speed test I should be using?
AliBubu Posted October 15, 2006 CID Share Posted October 15, 2006 I'm on the same package with NTL. Here's my test results; :::.. BoneG Posted October 15, 2006 Author CID Share Posted October 15, 2006 Hi, Thank's for the replies so far. FiberOptic, given that I am paying for a 10Mbps connection are there grounds for a telephone call to NTL regarding the results I got from the test? Regards, BoneG.
