Sharky2006 Posted November 19, 2006 CID Share Posted November 19, 2006 I use Mozilla Firefox and IE7 and I want to find out how I can setup CCleaner to run automatically after either one of those browsers close... Please help me on this...
tommie gorman Posted November 19, 2006 CID Share Posted November 19, 2006 Any particular reason for this? Since it is not a time of day schedule, which would be normal. Just kind of an unusual request.
Sharky2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Author CID Share Posted November 19, 2006 I'm bored and my Knicks lost and I hate to have to run ccleaner once a week, month or whenever. I just want it to be automatic that's all. Do you know how to do this?

tommie gorman Posted November 19, 2006 CID Share Posted November 19, 2006 Automatic is no problem, I thought you wanted it to run whenever you logged off of the internet or something. Try reading here. Type a name for the task, and then choose one of the following options:
jags4560 Posted November 19, 2006 CID Share Posted November 19, 2006 You can set it to clean house whenever you reboot. Just check the Run CCleaner when the computer starts box. Options>Settings>Run CCleaner when the computer starts
Sharky2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Author CID Share Posted November 23, 2006 That's not how I want it to work though. I want for when I close my browser it automatically cleans so that I don't have to do it manually. I currently run a program called IE Privacy Keeper that also automatically cleans up Mozilla Firefox.. That can be found here: http://www.browsertools.net/IE-Privacy-Keeper/index.html So basically I just want CCleaner to do the same thing because I like the program. Is there anyone with any knowledge on how to do this?
tommie gorman Posted November 23, 2006 CID Share Posted November 23, 2006 If you were using IE6 the fastest way would just be to clean out your cache. But on Firefox I am not sure.
mglc2ticl4 Posted November 23, 2006 CID Share Posted November 23, 2006 I believe IE7 has a box that you can check to clear out temp files as the browser closes in Internet Options/Advanced tab. Also, I believe earthlink offers a free toolbar that can do this (but I may be wrong on this).
Sharky2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Author CID Share Posted November 26, 2006 I figured it out. Create a batch file. This is what you would write in notepade than save as a .bat file. cd "C:Program FilesMozilla Firefox 2 Beta 2firefox.exe" "C:Program FilesCCleanerccleaner.exe" /AUTO Then instead of clicking on the Mozilla Firefox icon, click on the batch file and it automatically opens Mozilla and then when you X out Ccleaner runs automatically. Sharky2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Author CID Share Posted December 10, 2006 I just thought about this but is there a possible security issue if I open up a browser through a batch file?
