"Achieve the Best Performance Out of Your Computer " http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257 Then after it is all clean, (read the whole thing) try tweaking it with TCP Optimizer. http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-1013 or the direct link from that thread. https://www.speedguide.net/ Hope that helps. Then post another test. Welcome to the forum toughguy5 Have patience next time.

tommie gorman Posted November 27, 2006 CID Share Posted November 27, 2006 Did you read and do all this? http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257 And did you scan in safe mode? Is there anything running in the background? Turn off all other non essential items. I never have Quick Time running except upon rompt. It is a real resource hog. Ctrl+Alt+Delete will show running processes. start*run*type msconfig*enter. That will shut doewn unneccessary items. I only run my security items. AVG Free, AVG antispyware, and my Windows Defender. Nothing else is running in my background. It helps. Are you running Norton for your AV? So many things to check.

tommie gorman Posted November 30, 2006 CID Share Posted November 30, 2006 Well toughguy5 to set the Optimizer just put your advertised speed in the dial. 4,000 is what you would set it at. And every couple of days set it a little bit different. Say like 500 per reset. Always reboot too. Remember it takes 2 or 3 days for a setting to settle in fully. But you should see the most increase quickly. You may want to take notes what you reset it at andthe speeds each time. And sometimes it actually helps to go under your advertised speeds on the dial.
