Swimmer Posted November 26, 2006 CID Share Posted November 26, 2006 That is possible but it is going to cost big bucks.. School and companies run Windows NT or 2003 server. Basically what they do is create an internal domain.. So.. You create a domain that is called testmy.lcl. At this point you would have a server that is incharge of the entire domain, also known as a domain controller. From this server you could setup Active Directory. Basically a huge access list of users, computer, and groups. You can also setup policies for each. So if you wanted one group to be able to change the time you could make a policy that allowed them to change the time. The whole aspect of having roaming storage space and profiles is all controlled in active directory. I am sure that there is a way to do all of this in linux for next to nothing.. I just havent had the time to do so. Maybe if I get some time in the coming weeks I can begin to dabble. Other wise if you are interested in going with the Microsoft route you would want to research Windows Server 2003
