tommie gorman Posted December 2, 2006 CID Share Posted December 2, 2006 Man he had a nice place. The least they could have done was kept their damned money till he passed on. Then he probably have given it to them for free. Or less anyway. I truly believe him. And don't blame him one bit. He worked for it with his bare hands for 30 years of hard work and sweat. That is a true shame. They could have waited. Nice satelite dish. Heck he made me jealous with his place. (that would be except the mosquitos of course)
Sparticus Posted December 2, 2006 CID Share Posted December 2, 2006 God I would have loved to lived there. With the exception of a better house. I loved that peaceful pond! To think that soon that land will be turned into houses.
tommie gorman Posted December 2, 2006 CID Share Posted December 2, 2006 The way I understood it they want to flood it for the everglades preservation, or something. It sounds like one of those human interests groups involvment. The house was all he really wanted. It would have worked for me.(if I were single with no kids, of course)

fikester Posted December 3, 2006 CID Share Posted December 3, 2006 The government will take what ever is in the way http://www.jessehardy.com/index.shtml The man got paid a few bucks, but not near what the property sells for in that county....and what he did get paid keep in mind was not what they offered him to begin with. Seen a very similar situation near by where the feds purchased two farms over 1000 acres......
