daytrader Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 I pay for the 1000/192 plan..the 1000 download part is above 1000 some 99% of the tim..1073, 1086, 1069 etc... but 90% of the time my uploadpart is low..like 50 or 60 or even 45.. THIS TIME it tests 137...any ideas why upload speeds are kind of erratic..what it is I upload alot of stuff, family mini-movies, etc to Photobucket, etc and it takes a good while.. just wished my upload times were consistently say 150 at least..am I wishing for too much?.. I don't turn off any firewalls or anything..should I?.. what's the deal here?.. for maintenance, I do run occasionally iolo.com SystemMechanic6 proffessional which always seems to help.. I ran it right before I did this test below..it fixed some broken fragments but other than that everything else was good to go.. :::.. testmy.net test results ..::: Download Connection is:: 1063 Kbps about 1.06 Mbps (tested with 1013 kB) Download Speed is:: 130 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 137 Kbps about 0.1 Mbps (tested with 386 kB) Upload Speed is:: 17 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Server 1) Test Time:: 2006/12/28 - 4:38pm D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-WGOY7A9L4 U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-WJY1DLX6H User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; BellSouth/1.0.0; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)
fikester Posted December 29, 2006 CID Share Posted December 29, 2006 Check your rate code and ACP score......if your rate code is below a 2/3 you might try force ranging. Also make sure your transmitter is grounded properly. A sig line would help raders know what your using.....and what bird your on. during peak hours my uploads are from 130-200.......off peak 180-

daytrader Posted December 29, 2006 Author CID Share Posted December 29, 2006 I asked my computer tech guy about it, and he said it would be all kinds of jumping thru the hoops to remove it... something in computer I guess.. I had bellsouth internet for 8 years plus I used the bellsouth accelerator all the time.. with accelerator on, I would get about 150kps with very degraded graphics..but at least I wouldn't have to wait all day..
