crono37037 Posted January 7, 2007 CID Share Posted January 7, 2007 Ok i have comcast and a rca dcm305 modem. I have been trying to host a battlefield server for me and some friends, and they cant connect. I have the windows firewall disabled. Does anyone know if my modem is firewalled, i talked to someone from comcast and they said as far as they could tell its not, then i asked them how i can open the port and they gave me a link to the terms of use page... Ryan314 Posted January 7, 2007 CID Share Posted January 7, 2007 The reason they sent you to the terms of use page is because hosting a server is not allowed on comcast unless you have the buisness plan. Also im pretty sure you need to forward some ports for the bf2 server client. www.portforward.com thats a good site for forwarding ports.. try that. Swimmer Posted January 9, 2007 CID Share Posted January 9, 2007 The modem is not firewalled.. If you are hosting behind a router then you will need to either DMZ the server or forward the necessary ports for BF2. The other thing to check would be if your anti-virus has a built in firewall. Most suites now include a firewall that also needs the ports to be forwarded or turned off to host.
