zerocool5468 Posted February 3, 2007 CID Share Posted February 3, 2007 ok, so right after i put in the call to switch from my 4.0 cox internet to at&t 3.0-6.0 internet i run the download speed test. usually i get 2.8 or so. but i got this on the test. Your connection is: 7345 Kbps or 7.3 Mbps You downloaded at: 897 kB/s You are running: 128 times faster than 56K and can download 1 megabyte in 1.14 second(s) Member Ident: CompID:6435639495696 Test Time:: 2007/02/03 - 4:31pm Test Browser and OS info: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.9) Gecko/20061206 Firefox/1.5.0.9 Test ID: ACUQY0WKD (if this is a screenshot go to testmy.net to see if this is fake) Diagnosis ^info^: Awesome! 20% + : 40.92 % faster than the average for host (cox.net) This was tested from a 12160 kB file and took 13.562 seconds to complete wtf anyone? FiberOptic Posted February 3, 2007 CID Share Posted February 3, 2007 did you do the cache thingy?
zerocool5468 Posted February 3, 2007 Author CID Share Posted February 3, 2007 no, i haven't done any tweaking. swear to go i was scoring 2.7-2.8 earlier today. call to switch with at&t and run the test again. 7.2-7.4 scores. i'm thinking i might just cancel that at&t order since there's no contract. if these speeds stay the same that is. but i'm pretty siked. the cox i'm paying for is 4.0 speeds. so, this is pretty sweet. zerocool5468 Posted February 4, 2007 Author CID Share Posted February 4, 2007 i'm using mozilla. there's only an options option under the tools section. but i ran crap cleaner and cleared out all the saved stuff and installed the correct cable nut settings and restarted. now my scores are all over the place. ranging from 2.8-5.6. but no where near the 7+ i was just getting. this is pretty weird. gotmilk Posted February 4, 2007 CID Share Posted February 4, 2007 Well, I'd keep on monitoring it for a while. I'd still say the AT&T is your best choice, considering it's really cheap, and quite fast. I can pretty much assure you that if you're eligible for the 3-6 Mbps package, you'll get closer to 6 Mbps than 3.
