Windows 98 SE

I am trying to install windows 98 SE on my laptop ( it was vista, and i didnt want xp so for fun im using 98 ) and i made a bootdisk and ram fdisk and stuff.. try everything and it keeps comming up with an error "Windows requires xxxxxxxx bytes of space on C:/" its a 40 gig and no matter what i try it still does it

it will be active by default.

be sure your floppy disk you booted off of has the CD drivers on it. Copy the windows directory from the Win 98 CD over to C:windowscabs. make 2 directories.

the first one should be windows and make another one inside that called cabs

so you should be in c:windowscabs

copy the Windows 98 disk to that c:windowscabs folder and type setup from the C drive. your install will simply fly by and since you installed from the C drive you don't need to bring your Windows 98 cd with you if you ever need it.
