I have 1.1mb/s BT Yahoo! internet and I live in the UK :haha:

Upload test taking very long to begin...even with my firewall apparently switched off. (I use Symantec Norton Internet Security 2005

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 537 Kbps about 0.5 Mbps (tested with 579 KB)

Download Speed is:: 66 KB/s

Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/

I don't understand Cablenut :o

Can you help me make my internet not suck? :evil6:

TcpOptimizer help alot of ppl but dosent work well with connections below 3 Mbps and it dosent tweak upload.

Do not mix diffrent tweaks, decide what tweak you like to use and stick to that.

I take it you already have Cablenut installed

download this attached file and unzip it to C:ProgramCablenut

open cablenut adjuster, click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry

in top left corner you see file, lonad custom settings file, browse to C:ProgramCablenut and dubbleclick on the file you unzipped

now you have a few values set in adjuster, click save to registry and reboot, also reboot your modem for 30 seconds.

Make a new speedtest, use the 2992 KB test for download and 1492 KB file for upload and also make a new tweaktest

post result

good luck

VanBuren :)

If you mean like a monthly download limit... I don't know if it's in pace yet, but they are adding a limit of 30GB per month :confused1:

Oops I did it wrong okay here's my results...

trace looks good :)

try this, open cablenut adjuster, change TcpWindowSize and GlobalMaxTcpwindowsize to 64240 and click save to registry and reboot.

i mean top upload speed, its its usally 128 Kbps, 256 Kbps or 384 Kbps for dsl with that download rate

TcpOptimizer help alot of ppl but dosent work well with connections below 3 Mbps and it dosent tweak upload.

I have no idea what the hell you are talking about.. I just reformated a friends computer.. tested here.. he ran 1456kbs..  Downloaded TCP and now he runs 2300... his service is throught purdue.. and is rated at 1.5/256.. now I think it helps below 3.0..

relax dude  :lol:

i been around here so long now and seen what problems TCP Optimizer has made to alot of ppl with slower bandwith or diffrent types of MSS then 1460 on cable

a RWIN of 256960 is just silly and will slow down most connections below 3 Mbps or so...

cos TCP Optimizer do not care what amount of bandwidth you have.........

one size will never fit all  ;)

Yeah sorry about that.. I have had a really long day.. I know you are the expert at this stuff.. Just seems that it works really well for wireless clients!  I dont know why but it just does.. I have had nothing but really good results on alot of the laptop in the lab using TCP..

:) I actually get better overall speeds with TCP OPT than I do with Cable Nut, on my computer. There are many ppl that find it difficult to use CableNut , and if you use custom settings and tweak your RWIN receive and test with TCP analyzer it will suggest different settings.that you can enter. As ppl have said many times there is no one size fits all. Someone with VanBuren's expertise with CableNut is  Superior to TCP OPT but its not something others can do as well. For most CableNut is a very time consuming strategy, I am pretty sure of one thing and thats using either one of these "tweaks" is much better than not using any. Often when I am helping a friend on the phone Iam reminded that they want the quick fix and not necessarily the right or best one. We are very lucky that we have more than one option and have ppl here that have different areas that they excel in, I believe it is one more reason that has helped make this a very popular site.......... And there is no doubt that VanBuren has made his version of CableNut into an art form.,..  :)

The things that i like most with Cablenut is that you can tweak AFD buffers, and like i said before adjust files to diffrent amount of bandwidth and MTU, MSS values

to fully take a adventage of AFD buffertweak you need SP2, with AFD buffers you can tweak your upload, no other tweakprogram can do that http://www.broadbandnuts.com/index.php?board=4;action=display;threadid=3126

if you have a slow upload you probl reach 90% of 128, 256, 384, 512 Kbps with TCP optimizer, but its rare to see ppl with 768 Kbps + reach 90% of their uploadspeed without using cablenut.
